4.0 out of 5 starsNeil Gaiman at it again

A very easily read compendium of Norse Mythology.
Done in Neil's signature style, this mythology retell is a very entertaining read.
The Gods are ALIVE! The tales of their victories, their losses, their escapades, and their ends are worked like a fine wool into a great tapestry.

1.0 out of 5 starsBook arrived in disgusting condition
Reviewed in Australia on 17 January 2022
Book arrived as if it were used.
It has greasy smudge marks all over the over, the corner of the back is peeling and there are fingerprints everywhere.
Something you’d expect from a second hand store, not brand new off Amazon.

I’d like either a full refund or discount because this is most certainly not the brand new book I paid for.

1.0 out of 5 stars Book came in poor condition

Book came wrinkled and wavy for some reason? It's a real eye sore and I pride myself in having books in good condition so it annoys me to see it come to me like this.

The writer has made a magnificent job while gathering all of these myths and folk tales and serving them in a interesting and fluent way. It’s a book that even after you’ve finished you can pick a random story at anytime for some small distraction and amusement.

Grandson is so into Norse mythology. I think he’s read everything from the library, and now he has his own book.

Neil Gaiman's Norse gods are flawed, egotistical, spiteful and nasty. Fantastically written, reminded me so much of his "American Gods" and Shadow short stories. His work is always engaging, and this book is no exception.

I’ve loved Neil’s work before, this book is a long way from engrossing and seems like a Sunday-afternoon re-hash for the publishers. A real shame.

The Norse myths come to life in a fun and engaging collection of stories. Once I started I couldn't put it down.

Neil Gaining spins a great yarn. Here he retells the tales of the old Norse Gods in everyday modern language.

A quick storytelling of a fabled history of Asgard. Gives a good overview providing entertainment and some enlightenment of Odin and his family.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Story

I recommend the audiobook, the author tells a great story about the nordic gods. The way he divides the story into chapters allows for each one to be able to be read as a whole or as a single separate story.
