I normally wear a 1x so I decided to size up to a 3x based on the reviews. I even compared my measurements to the ones listed in the description. It was still way too small by about 4/5 inches in the chest area. I could not button the top buttons at all. I wished it fit because the quality and details are beautiful.
This is a great blouse! It's roomy, it's soft, it's beautifully detailed, but it'll die if it gets wet.
I put this in a garment bag before putting it in the wash on delicate. Some of the lace is a little funky looking now, probably because it's on the cheaper side. But the worst is that all of the edges picked up every trace of lint they could find, so the entire blouse appears edged in pink fluff. Obviously this is my fault for not just handwashing it, and my score doesn't reflect this.
I did take a star off for the chest, which puckers around my boobs, despite clearly still having room and myself not being very busty. I'll have to sew a hidden button between two of the existing buttons. It won't be an issue if you're getting this to wear under a jsk like I am.
I triple checked the measurements on this, especially the bust measurement, before I bought it. According to the chart, in the biggest size I was under the measurement by almost an inch. When I got the shirt, it fit my neck flawlessly, was long enough in the arms, and looked super cute -- except for the fact that it gaped hugely at my boobs. I tried different bras, a sports bra, and no bra to try to get it to work. Long story short, it doesn't fit the way it said it would. I'll be returning it. For those who have smaller busts relative to the rest of them, it should be fine. The bottom button is also weirdly high on the shirt, like it's meant to be tucked in to waist-high bottoms.
To all women with a large bust, the size 3X that I ordered was no where near a size 3X. Be aware that their size 3X would fit a 36B or 34C at best! Therefore, if your bust is larger than a 36B/34C, there is no way you will get this 3X shirt to button. Since I had to have the shirt for a witch performance, I cut the shirt with scissors straight up the back to the shoulder blade placket. With a black cape over it and a black tank under the shirt, no one knew the difference. If the shirt fits you, the fabric is substantial but not bulky or hot. The style of the shirt looks just like the online photo. The necktie is a separate piece so you can opt to not wear it if desired. Looks fantastic for a gothic/Victorian witch.
I was so excited to receive this item. I ordered a size larger than usual, a 3X instead of a 2X . I could not get the front closed across my chest! Their idea of a 3X is more like a size 18. So sad because the blouse was pretty. So disappointed. If you are a plus-sized gal, this is not going to work. I think they are thinking about younger girls, not women with a real bust and hips.
Used this lovely blouse for a themed ball, so for me it worked perfect for what was seen. I purchased a 3X for my robust form, depending on the undergarment there was a slight gap between buttons ( 42DD) but I was also wearing a corset so again worked perfect for the look.
I checked the measurements and it looked like a XX-Large would fit perfectly fine, but I ordered the XXX-Large just in case. Well, I pulled it on and the buttons instantly popped out around my chest. Everywhere else looked very close to popping. I ordered a size up and it's still waaaaaay too small.
