It’s better then a fan but it’s high maintenance

The first machine I got was defective but I got a new one at no charge so that was nice. The device is loud, real loud. If noise bothers you this isn’t for you the motor is quite loud. But I like that so it was good for me. The light always stays on which is a minus personally because I like to sleep in pitch dark. The unit itself throws out cold air but you have to crush ice and mix water in at the top. I always would have icy cold water in my fridge and ice cubes I’d hammered to top it off to keep it cold. Because the filter doesn’t stay frozen long. You could freeze that thing 12 hours and 45 mins later if it’s really hot it’s melted but it’ll work wet too. But make sure to have atleast a wet filter, the colder water on the filter, the better. Also I put peppermint oil on the grate I felt like it helped cool the air down a bit.

Fan alternative but not an AC replacement

I was hoping to use this in my attic office instead of the window air conditioner. It does not cool me enough on really hot days for that. However, it is better than a fan and fairly quiet relative to my fan and AC unit. It is better suited for days in between having windows open with a breeze and needing AC. It is small and sits on the desk to provide direct air. With it fairly close, I only needed the low setting which is also quieter.
If you are looking for a good personal fan then I would recommend it for that use.

Doesn’t condition the air. It provides a decent flow of cool air, albeit high humidity until either ice melts or cold water used up. Having said that, it does help, and has a small footprint, so I give it four stars.

It's smaller than I thought. Only a 6" cube. It cools me nicely at night. I followed recommendations & put icecubes in top with water. It's louder than I would like, but not as loud as my air conditioner was. I wish I could turn the night light off completely, but I have it on the dimmest setting. It fits nicely on the night stand.

This unit works great. Take it anywhere plug it in add water to top. It really is an awesome little unit. I definately recommend. 3 speeds. You can add ice with the water and makes it colder. Works good.
