4.0 out of 5 stars Does about what I expected, could use a better filter

I wasn't expecting anything spectacular, but I live in the dry Southwest, so a cold humidifier like this works pretty well in the short range. Sometimes it even gets too chilly.

The only downside is the felt filter you freeze doesn't stay cold for longer than a few minutes. I actually took the filter out and put in one of those flexible ice packs with little ice cube pockets. That worked much better.

Even so, don't expect it to run very cold for more than about an hour. I usually only run it for about 30-60 minutes right before I go to bed.

Still much better than a fan alone!

4.0 out of 5 stars Better than what others say

Definitely for small spaces. I feel if you put it on works well to cool you down. Noise level is ok. It is loud. I feel if you had it on high during the night when you're trying to sleep it would be a bother. If you put it on low it's still noisy but feel you would be able to sleep. I've seen complaints about it not being cool air at all unless you put the filter in the freezer (as suggested) but I dont think that is true. I just poured could water over it plus cold water and 2 ice cubes on the top and it's blowing pretty cold air. Lastly, the picture is of where the water level was at after about 3 hours of it being on low. And when I filled it up it hit at just a tad above the sticker. I think that is pretty good. Low was still decently cool. Would definitely recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars I like it!

This is a good product but I believe some people expect too much from it. It uses a 3 speed fan to evaporate water. This is a cooling process that I learned about in grade school. I find that it works well for me on my nightstand to help me sleep. The light may be too bright for some, & can't be turned off, but I like it. I've also found the water reservoir only lasts about 5 hours, but that isn't an issue as the unit will work just fine when empty it simply won't cool as well.

4.0 out of 5 stars Ontel Arctic Air Pure Chill Evaporative Ultra Portable Personal Air Cooler with 4-Speed Air Vent
Reviewed in the United States on 21 July 2021

This never seemed to 'cool' the room as advertised, but it was cooler, which was the point as it gets really hot and I wanted something to keep my pets cooler.

This one seems to have stopped all function other than the fan, as it no longer uses the water put into it for cooling purposes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Does blow air

Ok so I’m in Nevada where it’s excessively hot. The noise level was low as we put this in the garage. Super easy to figure it out. No coolness for us at this time of year but we did put in cool water and there was a bit of a difference. Because there is no humidity here I felt like I was filling it up much sooner than they indicate so watch that. I wish it had an auto shut off for this reason. Otherwise this is a smart solution for a small space.

4.0 out of 5 stars Only works in a space that is already cool
Reviewed in the United States on 9 July 2021

The use of this type of cooler only works in a room that is already cool. The noise level of the fan is louder than I expected. In extremely hot temperatures where the house air conditioner is having a hard time keeping the house cool, these little units don't really cool things down. I live in Arizona and it is currently 100 degrees at 9:00 AM. That's far too hot for even a supplementary unit like this to do much good. In fair weather they are great.

4.0 out of 5 stars I does cool off your immediate area if it's blowing on you

Not quite as quiet as they say and it's a bit labor intensive. You have to fill with water each time and for bet results the filter should be frozen. The only problem with that is if you are far away from the freezer when you begin to work and realize you forgot it

4.0 out of 5 stars It's not perfect but helped me out when my A.C. broke

This is not a replacement for an A.C. but it did help me out when I was without one when the temperature was in the high 90's in NYC. The air blowing out is not as cold as an Air Conditioner, but colder than the room temperature for sure. You also have to keep it close to you for any heat relief, if my A.C. didn't crash I would never had tried this product but it did give me some relief until I was able to replace my A.C. Once my new A.C. unit was installed I put this little machine away , "in case of emergencies"...

4.0 out of 5 stars Will have to keep ice in it if you want it to blow cold air.

I had no air conditioning this past summer. This did help.out plus I had a ceiling fan and another table fan. So with all three I stayed comfortable. Some times I just used the Arctic Air as long as It has water in it which you have to keep an eye on it so it doesn't run dry. But it did help me to get through the hot weather.
