Big Fan of These Little Lights

I love these retractable head lamps. They're lightweight and compact and easy to throw in a pocket or a day pack. Very convenient. I've owned several over the years and always go right out and buy a new one when mine breaks or wears out. They now turn on at the lowest/dimmest setting which is nice. The little glow in the dark ring around the lamp is a nice idea and makes it easier to find in the dark, but I'd kind of prefer that when I turn off the lamp all light is extinguished. I'm knocking off one star because they now appear less well made; the plastic on my new one is definitely thinner and flimsier than previous models. Time will tell on how well it holds up.

Excellent design; not waterproof

OK. So they don't advertise it as waterproof. But I make the assumption that outdoor gear will just be waterproof. I left my last one in the dinghy (salt water environment) and it was toast in a few days. It just couldn't handle the exposure to salt water. So then I got a replacement because I love the design so much. Lost a star because of how quick the salt water killed it.

I had an older Zipka that's been with me for over 10 years. Its smashed up and beat so I replaced it with this. It does not sit secure on your head as well as the old on.

Great lamp. puts out a lot of light. Doesn't wear down the battery and the headband retracts. I love it! Primarily used for walking the dog at night in the winter.
