I'm a big fan of headtorches and Petzl and have loads of them, Zipka has been my favourite for a long time, as its so compact, and flexible for wearing on head/wrist, or attaching to almost any pole or object. I've had zipka's from the original 4 LED version, through the Zipka 2/plus, and now the latest COB Led version. I have two of the 2018 Zipka which are great, but when I heard the 2019 model was 1/3 brighter (300 lumen vs 200 lumen), I bought one to compare, and am really impressed with it.
The LED is noticably brighter, and has a warmer tint than the previous version, it is a great general beam wide enough to be useful close up, but still with good range (noticably better than last years Zipka).

At around £22 this is great value, and I have the Core rechargable battery in mine, for convenience mainly.

Best Petzl I ever had

This is easily the best Petzl I've got so far. It's the 4th I own. The previous 3 were tikka and zipka from around 2000-2005, the ones with 3-4 LEDs in a row and no red light. Then I got a tikka from ~2010, with 1 main LED and a red light. I generally prefer the zipka design. The strap on tikkas loses elasticity and dies in ~5 years. It happened with both tikkas I owned. Also, the zipka is really easy to attach to stuff that is not your head like some branch above you to light the camp, or the tent ceiling. This is much harder to do with the tikka. I also think the zipka design is much more robust and will last way longer than the elastic strap of the tikka. The only advantage of the tikka in my opinion is that it's easy to adjust the angle of the headtorch on your forehead.
Except for this zipka / tikka comparison I really like what petzl did here with the glowing-in-the-dark ring around the LED. It really makes finding the headtorch much easier after using it in the dark. I also really like the fact that the low settings are quite low. I know many people aim for the brightest torch possible, but sometimes a low light is really valuable. For example, when you read you won't get blind from the light, and when using it with other people around you you won't make them blind by mistake. The red light is also very useful in my opinion.
Lastly, I won't recommend it if you want to hike in the dark. It's a great torch for the camp but you probably need something brighter or with more concentrated beam for night navigation.

Red light mode is underpowered

This torch puts out a nice amount of light in white light mode but red mode is a bit underwhelming and contrary to what I’d hoped it still leaves my dogs temporarily blinded if I shine it at them. Also because of the string band it tends to jiggle up and down as you walk so I would recommend one of the ones with a proper headband although it’s not a big deal. Works nicely with the CORE battery but careful you don’t push the connectors out of alignment or the circuit won’t complete.

Great with a few niggles

Very nice product. It would be even better if it had more water proofing as this is suited to occasional splashes, I would like to be able to feel confident wearing this in the rain without worrying about damaging the unit. This headtorch uses PWM to control the brightness settings, I can notice this occasionally which if you are sensitive to PWM can be slightly irritating, I would love to see a fully regulated current controlled version available. Overall these are only a few niggles, and the retractable head band makes this a unique, lightweight and very pocketable torch, so I do recommend it!

Watch you don't lose it

So small you can easily lose it, but up until that point it is great. Really bright on full power, easy to access the various modes and the retracting cord makes it ideal for attaching to things as a static light. It also sits on its back for use as an uplighter. Battery life is very good as well.
It sits on my head well but they have better models for running.
Overall I love it but worry about losing it.

Gucci little head torch. Features Red filter, flashing red, 3 x white light brightness’.
Adjustable and sits in the head nicely. Can be worn as a bracelet around the wrist (if you are wearing a helmet) which is handy if you have to keep light pollution to a minimum.
Slightly worried about the robustness of the string which acts as the head band but survived a 3 week exercise in Salisbury plain. 3 x AAA batteries lasted the whole 3 weeks with the torch being used on red filter every night.

A brilliant upgrade on the e+lite I’ve used previously. I love the zip design which always provides exactly the correct amount of tension. This was the main reason I chose the zipka as an upgrade because it stays put without bounce or slippage regardless of hairstyle or headwear. The zipka provides a huge jump in lumens compared to its little brother and the option to choose level allows battery conservation when you just need to see where your feet are landing, but a good flood level when you need more detail. The small size and light weight were critical for me (as was weatherproofing) as I use it for mountain ultra running and it definitely punches well above its weight. I have only run it on a well-known supermarket’s own brand endurance AAAs and so far its battery performance has far exceeded that predicted on the packaging, despite running in cold and wet winter conditions. All in all, a great product which surpasses all expectations.
