Good Paints at a Nice Price

At about a dollar a tube, these artist-grade watercolors are a great buy. The pigment is finely-ground and the classic colors are beautiful. I could be wrong, but I think these were created for the many terrific professional artists in China. Most of the markings on them are in Chinese, but the color names are also in English if you look closely.

The 18 tubes come in an elegant box and would make a nice gift for any artist or illustrator who uses watercolors. Of course, they are also good for students and beginners. At this price, anyone can explore the medium without worrying about spending a lot of money on something before knowing whether they will like it or not.

I love to use watercolors for my projects. I'm no great artist, but the point is to enjoy the process and have fun with it. I use these paints in a fairly traditional method - with traditional paint brushes and even the watercolor brushes that you fill with water and that allow you to take a small touch of color and create opaque to extremely transparent/translucent qualities on paper. I have also used these in my airbrush gun by thinning the paint to a "watery" texture and pouring into the airbrush cup. Watercolor paint watered down and used in an airbrush gun can cover a project quickly if, as an example, you are starting a beach project with lots of blues/greens in the picture. The airbrush can lay down that background of pale blue very quickly and this paint works very well in my airbrush to do just that. This set comes with a decent amount of colors in reasonably sized tubes, but I have already started using it, so will be looking for my next set of colors soon. This set is good enough I may purchase it again.

Review: Paul Rubens Watercolor Paint, I would say this set of 24 colors in 5m . Small enough to test to see if this would be a set of liking. I always find Paul Rubens offerings from Glittery Metallic their vibrant Neon Set and this set of vibrant colors as a base. By testing this small set you have an opportunity to test the basics.
The price is a Bargen as well as all the other sets in larger sizes. I enjoy testing any company's paints finding most have their individual selections. I can recommend this 5ml size to begin, students, intermediates, venturing into the larger sizes.

These are really nice paints. They reactivate very easily, and in fact can remain tacky to the touch for quite some time. I had a set of their pan paints, and the tube paints are just as beautiful.

Watercolor paint will forever be in my heart and in my art supplies. The paint is just so beautiful especially when you add the water to the mix on the canvas and blend it together. Your sun sets are going to be stunning. I do use these tubes in moderation because compared to my other bottles of paint these are significantly smaller. I paint often and I want these bad boys to last. I use regular paint brushes nothing to special. I sometimes add a sponge or cotton to the mix which the paint takes well too. Very easy to clean off your skin. I do not know about clothes since i usually paint in my painting apron which is already badly covered with painting stains. I have no experience with using this with kids but i think it would be ok. The colors you get are extremely nice not too broad in range but you have your basics.

I would definitely recommend this to anyone.
