Originally i bought them for event that people of all ages could enjoy doing collaboration art. Children really enjoyed the vibrant colours and many just did on the go amazing master pieces. I never really used pastels myself, but its nice experience and i really enjoyed the range of the colours. I wwould love to see more basic coulours more than one in the pack such as skin colours and white for blending. On down side, its breaking easily especially then paper cover removed. I have bought several packages for children to use and i see good value. These pastels invite children to draw.

The product I received is different to that currently described in the product title and detail.
I received Pentel 'JUNIOR OIL PASTELS'

However, this is my first ever set and I am impressed with the vibrancy of the colours.
OK the lemon is a little on the pale side but I use an art-bar when I want a [[ASIN:B008OV8ERI bright, sunny yellow]].
Representing great value for money (at the time of writing), this is a neat little rectangular box containing 12 ‘easy to use oil pastels for young artists’.
Incidentally - the ‘purple’ indicated on the box is not a colour supplied in the regular box of 12, so maybe a baker’s dozen would be more appropriate for the future!

The colourful box measures in around 13.5 cm x 8 cm x 1 cm and has a cardboard wrap which slips off to reveal the contents in a durable plastic-type tray.
Each JUNIOR OIL PASTEL is paper wrapped.
They come ready to use and each is around 6 cm in length when new, with a diameter of around 8 mm.
