Spent many hours researching the best light strip to use in our new kitchen but have been very happy with our decision to go with the Hue ecosystem. The colours are very true and the integration with Alexa and Homekit is so simple and really makes it easy for the whole family.

Quality Hue lightstrip

Lightstrip plus 2 meter base kit. The plus version is brighter then the original lightstrip I also have. This is the 3rd one I have at home, the new version has Bluetooth as well, however the Hue Bluetooth app will only control 10 hue devices. I use the original hue zigbee setup, on the hue smart bridge, this can control up to 50 lights accessories. I recommend it to anyone. Hue lights are quality items. I have used my lightstrips in the kitchen, back of the TV and on the verandah

Great lights - poor durability

Purchased these to brighten up an office space - and they look fantastic. The Bluetooth and app controls are very easy to use and the connectivity to Google home worked a treat.

Unfortunately there are several pitfalls:

* Not flexible: The stated flexibility of these strips is entirely incorrect. They are extremely tough and in an attempt to bend them downwards to hide the power cable, one of the LED diodes has dislodged from the circuit board. I now have 6 faulty LED's in the panel - the white bulbs do not turn on, so there is a dark patch of colour against the flow. To fix this, I would need to break the plastic seal and solder them back together.

* Too expensive: The cost of this strip against other brands is too high. Considering the lack of flexibility and the need for an additional device (Hue Bridge) in order to get maximum control over the lights, the price tag for using the Phillips brand is not warranted.

OVERALL: Excellent lights if you use them in a straight line - don't try to manipulate the shape. Consider the limited control options without a Phillips Hue Bridge. If I had my time again, I would purchase a cheaper, more flexible product.

Can't make sharp bends

I put this behind my monitor. The strip itself is fairly thick and rubbery, so you can't really make sharp angles/bends with it.

I had some issues with mine, specifically it couldn't be reached by the Hue app consistently (making it basically useless since I couldn't change the brightness and color), though Amazon is sorting this out. Hopefully this isn't an inherent problem with the product.

I installed this under overhead cupboards in my laundry. It reflects on the glass splashback and brightens up an otherwise dull room. I change the colour to reflect my mood. The side entrance to my home is through the laundry so the bright colours are very welcoming to visitors!

Pretty disappointing on its own. Without the Philips Hue Bridge, this light can only be controlled by Blue Tooth. And the timer runs on the phone not the device. So, if your phone isn't near the light when it is supposed to turn on it stays off.
