Sadly, the fit means more to me than their durability (or strength) right now. I say this because I had a frustrating time finding bags to fit my kitchen can which was advertised as a 3.5 gallon, but holds what seems closer to 4 or 5. As for strength, they've served me well so far considering that, at times, they're forced to hold a little more than the usual table & meal prep scraps-- cans of various sizes, glass jars and an assortment of other household refuse. I've not had one give way yet (knock on wood) and it's a bit of a trip from my kitchen to the dumpster 2 floors down and outside the back door.
I don't entirely understand how different companies translate the length and width of bags that are sold flat into a three-dimensional volume. I can, however, tell you that flat these bags are only 17" by 20" in spite of being marketed as "6 gallon", whereas the advertised-5-gallon bags I used to get are 19" by 24": https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0185DLE3K/
Unfortunately those bags are currently unavailable, so I'm going to try these bags, which are actually 19" by 24": https://www.amazon.com/Plasticplace-Gallon-Drawstring-Trash-Bucket/dp/B07HJJ3TJT/
I bought these for a 6 gallon trash can, but they don't fit. I'm still using them in a 4 gallon, and they're fine for that. But, they won't fit a standard, rectangular shape sterilite trash can. The quality of the bags is good.
Bags recommended are little snug but fits neatly perfectly very sturdy good functional can,,,,like removable bucket/can insert. Using it for medical bandage changing so footstep nice & sturdy and can actually remove insert bucket via handle when changing out bag. Quiet movement doesn’t disturb resting love one in room.
I don't know how well these bags would hold up for heavy or dripping stuff. I don't use them for that. These are for my bathroom trash/office trash/bedside trash bags. And for that, they work great. Convenient drawstrings and an all around good product. And this amount will last me about a year.
So I have trash cans that say 5 gal on the bottom. I bought these thinking there would be some extra space in the bag for overflow. But no, not only do they not fit the mouth of my trash cans but they don't even reach the bottom of the 5 gal can. Which makes me think that maybe they aren't actually 6 gallon sized?? I'm not sure but now I have a bunch of bags that don't fit any trashcans in my house. Can't return since the box ripped when opening...
It’s weird to say you don’t love a trash bag but while they do technically fit gallon wise, if you have a wider brim on your trash can you’ll have to force the bag around. Think I’ll buy up a size next time
It has been tight to fit into 6 gallon trash can all the time. The I bought the 4 gallon from another brand to use in kids room, and found out the 6 gallon one is exactly the same size as that 4 gallon one.
