Sadly, the fit means more to me than their durability (or strength) right now. I say this because I had a frustrating time finding bags to fit my kitchen can which was advertised as a 3.5 gallon, but holds what seems closer to 4 or 5. As for strength, they've served me well so far considering that, at times, they're forced to hold a little more than the usual table & meal prep scraps-- cans of various sizes, glass jars and an assortment of other household refuse. I've not had one give way yet (knock on wood) and it's a bit of a trip from my kitchen to the dumpster 2 floors down and outside the back door.
I bought these for a 6 gallon trash can, but they don't fit. I'm still using them in a 4 gallon, and they're fine for that. But, they won't fit a standard, rectangular shape sterilite trash can. The quality of the bags is good.
If you have exactly the right size wastebasket these bags would be great. However if it’s even slightly larger than the band at the top of the bag it will be difficult to get around the lip of your container. These bags have virtually no flex on top. Measure very carefully and make sure this bag is for you. If it’s the right size it’ll be the best bag you’ve ever bought. If it’s not the right size you’re going to be frustrated
I use these for a small 6 gallon square metal trash can. These are a VERY tight fit so they will sometimes rip at the top when trying to stretch them to fit the awkward size of my trash can. You should probably go up a size or two so it will fit properly. They still work just fine for me though so not a big problem!
The drawstrings are super nice and convenient for quickly tying up the bag when it's full. I'd say go for it if you're looking for decent bags at a reasonable price.
I don't know how well these bags would hold up for heavy or dripping stuff. I don't use them for that. These are for my bathroom trash/office trash/bedside trash bags. And for that, they work great. Convenient drawstrings and an all around good product. And this amount will last me about a year.
So I have trash cans that say 5 gal on the bottom. I bought these thinking there would be some extra space in the bag for overflow. But no, not only do they not fit the mouth of my trash cans but they don't even reach the bottom of the 5 gal can. Which makes me think that maybe they aren't actually 6 gallon sized?? I'm not sure but now I have a bunch of bags that don't fit any trashcans in my house. Can't return since the box ripped when opening...
It’s weird to say you don’t love a trash bag but while they do technically fit gallon wise, if you have a wider brim on your trash can you’ll have to force the bag around. Think I’ll buy up a size next time
I have a 5 gallon trash can and thought by getting the 6 gallon bags they would fit, but they don't. My can isn't a round or square can but instead if rectangular in shape, so I currently am using a 13 gallon kitchen bag. This isn't necessarily against the bags themselves, but more against me presuming a 6 gallon bag would cover a 5 gallon can, when in reality it doesn't.
