5.0 out of 5 stars Easy to Assemble - some tips for preparing it for many years of happy Fire-pitting!

The first picture is the final assembly. Start by inspecting the parts, making sure they're all there. Get some of the following items to help with the assemble; a Phillips screwdriver, some old towels to place it on while assembling, and some 'anti-seize' for the bolts. A 10mm wrench would be much better than the toy they sent if you have one. I also pre-purchased a can of Hi-heat paint to give it a total covering before using.

I coated each bolt with anti-seize before putting them on, if you ever have to take one off in the future this will likely help. If you don't have any, don't worry, it's not likely you'll ever be taking it apart. Peel the serial # tag off the inside of the metal ring and stick it on your manual. Not sure why we'll need it, but at least you'll have it.

Assemble the first 2 pieces but of course, do not tighten the bolts too much yet, that can wait till you put the final piece on. You should notice that the 2 ends are different and are made to overlap. When the first 2 are done, add the 3rd piece on. Note that I assembled it on a (folding) table, not on the ground and covered the table first with a few old garage towels to avoid scratches and slippage. Once the third piece is on, put the final quarter piece on. With it flat on the table (or ground) go around it now and tighten, again, not super tight (yet). I stood it up and tightened it a bit more, then began to spray it on the inside and out. I used about half the can , do about 2/3 of the metal ring at a time and wait 10-20 minutes before you turn/rotate it to complete the other areas. Don't worry if you do a spot twice, that's actually a bonus. Did I mention.. use a face mask when using spray paint.... besides, we're used to that.

Also, for those wondering if it really is 3mm thick... you'll see I used a digital micrometer to measure it. I did it at several points and each time it was around 3mm, a few times just over, a few times just under. But, it actually is 3mm. Try to avoid buying any fire-pit component that is less thick, it just won't last.

Let it dry for a day or 2 before using. I moved mine into the shed to dry in case it rained (it is April..)

So, I think you will find this is a great addition to any backyard and at a great price. Happy fire-pitting!

* be sure to position it at least 15 ft from anything flammable (like your house).
