This was my first time reading a book by Jaymin Eve, and what an introduction.
The world building was incredibly complex (but not in an overwhelming way), and the characters are so diverse and intriguing. I love the names Mera gives people & her acceptance of her situation... This author doesn't give us a whining, frail heroine. Instead we get a complicated, strong and defiant one. I cannot wait for the 2nd book in this trilogy. I don't even care that it ends on a cliffhanger, it's *that* good.

I’m not normally a fan of shifter stories but gave it a go as it had an interesting blurb, and is by Jaymin Eve, happy I did as was a fun read. It took me a second to settle into the shift in setting to Shadows world but loved the story more once I did. I will be annoyed if the heroine ends up with anyone other than Shadow in the end. The author has softened the bad guys ( Jax and Torin ) by the end of this book to the point I’m not sure where she’s going with them and the heroine. I won’t be happy if all is forgiven and she ends up with one of them but look forward to book two in the hope we get less of them and more of shadow.

‘Rejected’ is book one in Jaymin Eve’s Shadow Beast Shifters series. Prewarning book ends of a cliffhanger.
After her father tried to kill the Alpha of her pack, Mera bears the results of the dishonour as the lowest of the wolves. She is the target of the brutal attacks and bulling from her future Alpha and Beta. With a month from her bonding with her Wolf spirit, Mera must make the decision to either stick around and continue to take the ab*se or run away. But when things don’t work out as planned, Mera touches the Shadow Realm and calls forth the Shadow Beast.
Holy Freaking Moly!!! What an exhilarating read, fast paced, unpredictable, witty, humorous, shocking, and addictive. I’m a HUGE fan of Jaymin Eve and this would have to be one of my all time favourites of hers. Jaymin has pulled out all the stops with this book, I was completely and utterly submerged and hooked from the synopsis right up to the last word. Sitting on the edge of my seat biting my nails with anticipation, flicking each page hungrily needed to know what was going to happen next.
Mera goes through a real growth in this book, from being the submissive, scared pup to a strong independent wolf. She makes friends with unexpected people/creatures, every time she is kicked down she gets right back up swing and kicking. Mera hasn’t had it easy but she doesn’t really let much keep her down, all though at times she would contradicts or second guesses herself, it was all in the process of her growing into herself.
Shadow, hot dam what a beast. *fans self. I need my own rumbling, scorching hot moody beast. He might seem distant, arrogant, rude and brutal but he is over thousands of years old and has been through hell of his own. Plus he’s trusted five, seriously what are they drinking, damn so many gorgeous people in one Library is just too much to handle.
Such a great new adventure with shocking revelations and mystery. Highly recommend reading this, you won’t be disappointed. But recommended for mature readers as there intimate scenes.

I have read a few of Jaymin Eve's books and really enjoyed them but I think she has completely blown them out of the water with Rejected. Nailed it!!!
Admittedly, I don't read alot of Paranormal but I'm so glad I took a chance and read this.
Mera is up there as one of the best female characters I have had the pleasure of reading. She doesn't take any B.S. She isn't afraid to stand up for herself and those she considers friend or family. Although she does kind throw herself in head first.
Shadow is so possessive and annoyingly secretive but Mera and Shadow's connection is HOT so I maybe able to forgive him. Love Angel. Torin and Jaxson are so obliviously dumb.
Super (im)patiently waiting to see what Jaymin has instore for us in book. I can't wait to see Mera kick everyone's butts!!!!

This was a great first book, the plot was interesting and the characters are complex enough to give the book good depth considering its length. I am very interested to see how Mera develops in the next book, she is a smart, quirky and sometimes naive character who shows great strength as a character whilst no coming across as an angry too big for their boots type of women. I have happily pre ordered the next book.

I got the free sample for this and quickly bought the book because it started out so well.....Mera’s father challenged the alpha, so he was killed and her family shunned, making her the packs punching bag....I really liked her, and felt her pain...Things quickly changed though when she called upon the shadow beast to help her...once she was in his domain her personality changed from someone I could like to a foul mouth smartass.., which was a real shame because this series had the potential to be very good...The thing I really didn’t like though is the book was from a single POV, only hers, so I felt no connection what so ever to the beast, or anyone else...it was just a girl telling a story....Usually when a book is well written the characters come alive to me, as if I am watching a movie, rather than just reading a story..I can picture what they look like, and have an emotional connection with everyone in it.....This book was not written well enough for that, and even the storyline itself was a mixed bag of nuts...sorry to say I will not be buying book two...

Wow, just yeah.. is all I can say. I stumbled across this book as I love books full of erotic, steamy, goodness full of hot, broody arrogant and cocky males..it does end on a bit if hanger snd I wanted to scream.. but Jaymin's next book, if anything like this one will be worth the wait.
Word of warning though 🤣 there are some male characters in this book, you really want to strangle. And the story has you guessing and then going... 'No Way' when your guess is completely left field 🤣

Amazing new series start
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 8 December 2020Verified Purchase
It’s been a while since the author started a new series and I knew this would be amazing.
Mera is the best main character. She’s smart and strong and doesn’t start off weak even though she’s had the worst time. She creates family wherever she goes and loves fiercely.
I love Inky a lot and I can’t wait to find out what he actually is and how it relates to Shadow. There’s a lot of things I’m eager to know about Shadow and the Shadow realm.
I don’t know how Mera does the things she can with the realm and after that ending I can’t wait to find out what she actually is! She can’t surely be a regular human wolf shifter, right?

Well worth the wait

Mera is the strong lead female character and Shadow is the perfect Alpha male for her. Mera has learnt to be strong and to rise from the ashes like a Phoenix, due to circumstances out of her control. Shadow tries to control her but slowly learns that Mera has quite a bit of snark and more bite than the average female wolf shifter.
Great characters and great plot, to end it on a cliff hanger!!!!
I can’t wait to read the next install net, which I preordered as soon as I was able.

Definitely worth reading with an interesting take on shifter law
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 15 December 2020Verified Purchase
A pretty strong start to a new series. Mera is a wolf shifter who is ostracised and bullied by her pack, suffering for the sins of her father. She decides to leave before the bond to the pack strengthens with her first shift, but her plans are foiled. When with her first shift Mera's true mate is revealed, hell breaks loose and Mera is whisked away by the creator of shifters himself. How will she navigate the new world she finds herself in and what will her true mate do, if anything, to get her back?
This new series is definitely worth a read with a cocky defiant female lead. But while I enjoyed the storyline and finished this in 2 sittings, there were parts of it that seemed rushed and could become confusing, and parts that seemed to drag. New characters are introduced with just a line and little explanation which can make it hard to remember who is who when they pop up again 50 or 100+ pages later. There is enough mystery and suspense built in that I've already preordered the second book in the series, despite being pretty sure from about half way through this first book that I know the answer to the main mystery.

Ok so i was sceptical about this book, I have previously read the authors books and I found them not very enjoyable however this book holds promise but there are two characters I just cannot stand and I’m finding it hard if I should read the next one when clearly I did what she wrote in the end of her book I threw my kindle angry at the ending. Dean and torin need to go because I cannot stand them at all and they are cringe and down right disgusting manipulative people argh please find a way to kill them on book two :)

Once again Jaymine Eve blows me away with another super Alpha male and a serious kickass leading lady. I Love Mera she is bloody awesome. And Shadow compliments her so well. I am now waiting with baited breath for the next book.
