Ordered my normal size and they fit perfect. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the SIX deep cavernous pockets. 4 in front that go all the way down to the hem, and 2 in back that also go all the way down to the hem. HUGE. Could easily fit any of todays large ++ smartphones in any of the pockets and it would swallow them whole with room to spare lol.
On the front you have 4 of these monster pockets. 2 open, 1 zippered, and 1 velcro. On the back you have 2 more monster pockets both with velcro. The velcro strips do not run the width of pocket maybe only 2 inches, which is fine. Trust me, these pockets are so deep nothings falling out of them anyway lol.
The only thing I didn't care for (and its a personal preference, not a fault of the shorts) is the velcro closures on 3 of the pockets (2 back,1 front). I would prefer zippers in place of velcro. Velcro especially if your out in public makes such an annoying sound when pulling something out of the pocket (wallet, phone, etc). With that said, I will be buying another pair in another color :)
