We wanted a kettle with a large top lid for easy filling. This fits the bill. Being plastic, the sides don't get too hot when the kettle boils - less chance of unpleasant burn. It pours cleanly with no drips afterwards. A little bit noisy in coming up to boil and slightly slower than our last kettle, but not a problem for us. Good value. Durability remains to be established.
Being pensioners we like a cup of tea in bed on a morning, I had this same kettle in my kitchen for 3 yrs so decided to take this upstairs & buy another. So , if it works in kitchen for 3 yrs why not buy the same again. Personally recomend this product, easy to see amount of water when filling & very quick boil
This took a lot more than the stated 2 full boils to get rid of the disgusting taste. I was on the verge of sending it back when it eventually provided boiling water which didn't spoil the taste of my coffee. It's cheap and nasty in both look and feel, a horrid plastic contraption, but it does boil water.
This kettle is larger than I imagined and is a bit unwieldy to handle when full. It does the job in that it boils fast and isn't too noisy. The odd taste mentioned by others wore off after a few boilings and emptyings. End of the day it's a decent kettle but nothing to get excited about.
I am pleased with my purchase. I followed the before use instructions and had no problems with a plastic taste. Didn't notice it was any noisier than previous kettles but it is a little heavier which does not bother me but could pose a problem for someone with arthritic wrists.
This is a god kettle we got to replace a scaly looking one. I was surprised the spout looks like horrible plastic but no bad thing when cleaning I guess. We’ve got used to this now and it’s a good replacement
Black shiny lights up blue when boiling yes it does have a plastic spout but it’s an actually good kettle after a lot of searching a d two substandard returns on other brands. This is the one you want.
After a few suspiciously lukewarm cups of coffee, I tested the water temperature at the point where the kettle clicks off and 9 times out of 10 it was 10-20 degrees below 100. It would eventually do a full boil if you switch it back on again a few times, but I suspect the thermostat was faulty. Also, water tasted very "plasticky" even several weeks later, despite 3 boils with bicarb. Returned after about a month.
