Meh. Spend the $$ on nice pencils if this isn't for kids. Lots of pencils, not a lot of color differentiation. You have to press rather hard to get a bold color.

Follow-up (5/10/18) These have been my favorite pencils I’ve tried and I have tried so many, from low cost Crazy Art to high end ones Prisma... these are my favorites, from how they color, the array of colors, down to the way they sharpen.

People who buy expensive artist quality pencils to color in coloring books have way too much money and not much sense. Sheeple there's always a less expensive product that's going to give you the same results. This is one of those products. Quality doesn't mean that you have to pay an arm and a leg for your supplies! Although I haven't bought from this supplier every time, this is the 6th box of these pencils I've bought. The only thing I don't like is the shabby box they come in and fall out into the shipping box. Hello? Ever heard of tape. Easy fix. Since I'm not going to be using them for something for an art class I'm not returning them but they seriously need to get a handle on the box. I also know I'll end up knocking them on the floor a few times before I use them up. I really like that you get 50 colors to blend and mix up with pens and markers whenever you're creating your masterpieces. FIFTY!!! Colors are listed on the back which is what sold me in the beginning because for some reason other companies want you to guess what colors are in their boxes. I like to know what I'm buying. They have white pencils to add highlights in the box too. I'm quite pleased with this product and I know that I'll buy it again!

"Buyer Beware!" "These are NOT the Best Buy!"

I am not someone who likes to give "negative reviews" however, I, only want to warn the interested. I am sure that many like this brand of colored pencils. Unfortunately, I do not! Last evening, I decided these colored pencils were only meant for the "trash!" My main complaint is that they can not be sharpened successfully! They also show flat color, which, at times, they is a result of the sharpening issue. Perhaps, they are acceptable if you only use colored pencils for "coloring" as in "coloring books", but for real artwork (and I am only a Student) I think they are probably very unacceptable! There are other better brands of all types and prizes. I have had much better luck with Prisma-Color, Staedtler, Fantasia, and even the old school stand-by of Crayola. I would suggest any of these brands and just maybe you might save your money or receive as a gift sometime the "higher end" brands some prefer! Thank you very much.
I want to update this and downgrade this to a "One-Star" It is very unfortunate that Amazon considers this a "best buy." These are the absolute worst buy. If you want an inexpensive and artistic colored pencil for all ages and all uses from coloring to "creating art", choose Crayola. The old stand-by is well worth it! When I see anything "Sargent Art", I cringe. In fact the "cheapie" brands at the local "dollar stores" are better than "Sargent Art" and that includes any Art Supplies. I apologize for being so harsh and critical. Stick with a brand like Crayola. They love children and the child in the "adult." Thank you.

These are Every Bit as Good as any I've Ever Used .... All the colors are Most Vibrant & Show-Up real Well (even the white) .... Even to darken or outline the color you're using doesn't take much pressure .... I've colored serval pictures & I can hardly tell They've been used .... The pencil, itself, is sturdy in your hand even in darkening; You don't get the feeling they'll break .... They arrived early & in great shape (no broken tips or out of the box) .... The box, in itself, Is a strong & sturdy ..... These pare real good with "Sargent Metallic Coloring Pencils" as well .... When these are gone (not anywhere in the distant future) This Sargent Coloring Pencils will be the only ones I reorder .... Simply put I Love these Coloring Pencils 😄
