4.0 out of 5 stars Great for Working On Fine Motor skills ✂️
Reviewed in the United States on 19 May 2020
I can’t stress how important practicing fine motor skills are in early childhood development. Printing, tying shoes, puzzles, blocks, drawing , cutting, art AND WRITING! My oldest son struggled and I wish I would have practiced with him a little more. This book is great for practice little hand strength

Pros:
-Different levels of difficulty with cutting
-Lots of different pictures that little ones can color after cutting
-lots of pages to practice
-several different types of lines to cut

Cons:

It would have been nice If the pages were made to tear out. 🙁. Every time I go to take out a page for him to cut it gets all jacked up unless I cut it out myself. Parents need time savers and convenience in our lives.

5.0 out of 5 stars Age appropriate book with lots of activities
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 22 November 2019
This is a brilliant book for my 3 year old who is currently scissor-mad. As a bonus, most of the pages can be coloured in before cutting to make the activity last longer. The book starts off with simpler/easier activities and moves on to harder ones.
I have been photocopying the pages so that they can be reused for my younger daughter and am planning to take some sheets with me when we go travelling to keep my daughter occupied. Photocopying the sheets also makes it easier for my daughter to use them as the pages cannot be removed from the book very easily.

2.0 out of 5 stars Alright, but not great!

It’s ok and it’ll be fine for photocopying activities to send home with the children if we have to lockdown or isolate. Generally I find it’s very reparative and there’s not really enough in terms of skill progression or even much thought about progression. I’m not really sure that the people who made the book understand how to teach scissor skills and how to make progress with them. I think it’s probably fine if you want something for home practise and you don’t know where to start, but for Early Years teachers it’s a waste of money as you’ll have many better ideas of your own. It also says the age range is 3-5, I would imagine that it’s far too easy for most five year olds. It’s for beginner cutters.
