Great fit (a tiny bit tight around chest but cup size is accurate), and very effective in reducing bounce when jogging. Love these colours too. I find it tricky to do up the top back part but will probably get used to it.
I've read loads of reviews saying to go up a back size ect. I'm glad I didn't listen to them. I was measured at marks and Spencer's when I was 13 and I was a 32c. I'm now 31 so I thought just in case my size had changed ( it didn't appear so ) I would get measured again. I got measured again and I'm still a 32c howevever in Victoria secrets I am 32dd two other places said 32c ( so I assume Victoria secret cup sizes are smaller ) Anyhow they all agreed on the 32 back. I brought this bra and did I totally have difficulty getting it on. Once you figure this out its something you don't forget. The bra fit me perfectly. It's amazing, I'd given up on gym in teenage years as all the movement with my breasts just felt uncomfortable. Prior to this I loved sports I was on all the trans hockey rugby ect. I really wish somebody had told me of these bras sooner. They are amazing, I actually want to get another one to sleep in they are really comfortable. My chest doesn't feel heavy. I would recommend these for all women even if just for sleep ! Maybe some women are having issues with the sizeing because they are currently wearing the wrong size ? I don't know but for me, this bra is a keeper.
This is fantastic. I bought my last shock absorber bra 20 years ago in the days of the Anna kournicova ads and it lasted all that time. Admittedly, some of those years it stayed in the draw. But it lasted really well. This bra is great. I bought my usual size initially and returned it for one size up on band, one size down on cup, I.e. the cup size is accurate but the band is tiny. 70% say fits as expected? I think it depends on whether you are wearing a bra size you fitted yourself and like a loose band in which case buy that size - it will be tight tho - or whether you have gone to John Lewis and they have given you the right size already - in which case definitely buy a bigger band size. Really comfortable to run in and I can just about breathe in the bigger size. Another thing to mention is that I am really tall and it fits. You need to adjust the length of the bra on the back of it. And there is no bouncing anywhere 🤣
I'm an E/F and finding something that holds me in without discomfort whilst exercising has been difficult. Have spent so much money on different types of sports bras and can say you really do get what you pay for. This is by far the best one I have ever worn and I dont buy anything else now, this one was my third purchase. It's the only bra I can run in where my chest does not budge at all.
The adjustable straps and clasps can be a little fiddly to begin with but once you have adjusted to your frame it will very rarely need adjusting again.
Really good price on Amazon and far cheaper than buying in shop.
Love these bras! Tried other brands and keep coming back to the Shock Absorber brand. This is my third one in this style. Love them because they stay in place during exercise, fit comfortably, no fiddly pads that keep coming out in the wash and they wear well. Purchased my first one about 6 yrs ago and it is still going, barely looks worn. Purchased another two so I can have one for each day of the week that I exercise. Its more expensive than other brands but it is money well spent!!
Only downside, my three bras are all black and silver. Wish there were more sizes available in the coloured ones.
I had been looking for a decent running bra to replace my old one and having taken into consideration all the recommendations to go a size up and a cup size down, I ordered size 38B (I'm normally a 36C). The fit is on the tight side, as it should be, but not so tight that I can't breathe or fasten it up easily. The bra does its job and I don't notice it when I am running. I'm glad I followed the advice!
The bra just about fits and works well as a sports bra. Don't be tempted to buy a size smaller (which I did due to limited availability and previous advice from friends about "buying a size smaller to help the efficiency of the sports bra" leading my to believe I could get away with it) as it is very tight to the point of constricting my rib cage. It is a very comfortable bra, though not as comfortable as I'd like as it is too tight. I would absolutely buy again, but in my actual size as opposed to the size i ordered this occasion.
I'm a 34DD ordered the size I normally wear. Around the body it is quite tight. I can just about on the last set of hooks fasten it up. Cup size it's absolutely spot on. Went back to gym for the first time after illness and found zero bounce. The tightness held everything firmly in place as it should. I can still take deep breaths and move comfortably but wouldn't like to wear for very long periods. I'm planning on loosing a bit of weight so can hopefully move down the various hooks. I would definately recommend as far as performance but be prepared for checking your size around body. Lovely design well made but haven't used more than twice at this time so don't know if it will stay great. Fingers crossed.
Have bought this bra a couple of times before (as my size has changed). It's the best supportive sports bra. I'd recommend buying a size up in the back and down in the cup from your normal day bra for the best fit for working out - it needs to be tight when you put it on (but not pinching), so nothing bounces. I'm a 32DD in day bra, bought 34C in this and it's perfect for exercise. Just be careful when doing it up and undoing that you don't snag the hooks (stretch the fabric carefully before unhooking) - if they get bent or broken, it's almost impossible to replace them, because they're sewn in so securely.
