**edit - naturally if you look under the unit the cord is rolled and concealed, d'oh** it takes a little tweaking to find the perfect amount of water for poaching eggs, but now i can poach perfectly every time. only criticism is the cord is very short, like very very short. my power plugs are a little high which means i have to put the little cooker right against the wall just so it reaches, which means steam from the vent is directly on the wall and travels up to the power point, dangerous? probably not, but a little longer power cord would have been ideal.

The timer and bell is useless. For different amount of eggs or doneness different amounts of water will need to be added. However there is no way for the steamer to sense when the water has depleted. So the heating elements is often burning without water left. Unsafe and inconvenient.

Never liked Sunbeam products for their unreliability, not long-lasting and the quality never match their price. But I gave this one a shot since it is "Amazon Choice".
Biggest issue I have with this one is the cooking tray which is non stainless steel. There is always a burning smell once the water is depleted easily, and it is very difficult to clean. The measuring cup is also useless. I prefer soft-boiled eggs, so I have to go through trial and error a few times to get the right amount of water required.
But as I use it a few more times, I notice the water depletes much quicker with the same amount of water and eggs. This leads to the burning and it continues to cook without water. Extremely dangerous and not recommended. I am using another cooker which is half the price of this one.. much safer and more reliable.

It does what it says it will do, namely, cook eggs.
I like my eggs hard boiled and mixed with mayo, salt and pepper. I am a simple woman like that. So I haven't branched out more, but I would trust that it soft-boils and does the other things it says it will do.
The buzzer function is great because I always forget about eggs on the stove. But it is so obnoxiously loud that you will come close to a heart attack so just be warned.

Super easy to use. However, the cooker looks filmsy and cheap and I don't think it would last very long. Also, the cooker's buzzer is way too loud. I guess it has to be loud to remind you to switch off the cooker immediately as soon as the eggs are ready. At this point, the water in the tray is already dried up but the cooker will not stop heating automatically unless you switch it off. I guess that it could be dangerous if you don't act quickly when the buzzer goes off.
