Not a bad sandwich grill,gets hot very quickly and toasts very fast.A bit disappointed that it cannot be clamped shut with anything thicker than a very thin sandwich,don't like having to hold it down manually so my sandwich toasts evenly.The plastic closing clamp feels very thin and dare I say a bit dodgy like it could break quite easily.Found it very smaller in size to my last one,but the fact that it cooks so quick is a redeeming feature.Would I recommend it to anyone looking for a sandwich toaster? Yes,but with reservations,you get what you pay for with the price being fairly reasonable..... but having the choice again I would certainly pay a bit more for a bigger/better quality one.

Very good for the money and makes great toasties

Toasts quickly and cooks bacon too, with generally great results, I make two half toasties at a time and family loves them. Non-stick surfaces easy to clean and the ribbed top plate structures a sandwich well. Also easy to store. SNAGS: won't store upright due to silly design flaws, the clip holding top closed is weak and grease can drip down the back. Such a shame, if Sunbeam hired a good design engineer, they could sort these problems in an hours work!. OVERALL highly recommended.

I got sick of toasting my bread on a frying pan because it takes too much of my time, so I bought this cute sandwich compact. I just use it to toast my bread and it serves my purpose very well.
The only thing I am not so satisfied is that the instruction that came with the product is not clear.
The instruction says that 'when the ready light is on, place your bread on it' and the machine has a red and green light. I don't know which one is the ready light.
Also, every time I plug the machine in, there is this very unpleasant smell like plastic burning. It is pretty scary.
Other than that, I'm quite satisfied with the product.

We got this grill during a clearance sale and it arrived in perfect working order. While it works very well as a sandwich press it is equally good at cooking tofu, halloumi or reheating certain foods. You can make pancakes on it and even line the lower plate with baking paper and make scrambled eggs. It is easy to clean with a bit of paper towel after use.

very nice! compact! it has enough space for 2 servings of sandwiches. I am very much liking that only one side has the grill marks, it makes sure that your fillings don't spill over. no need to press it too, gravity does it for you. if you press it too much, like I did, it ended up spilling my cheese onto the pan. still, it's non-stick, so I was able to scoop it onto my toast :p

Not for thick Sandwiches

Great if you want to put a thin sandwich in the press. If it is thick you will struggle to close the top and the whole sandwich with slide apart. Be careful as the handle gets hot from the sides. I would not purchase this press again

Great compact unit with the exception that the coil pivot at the rear doesn’t quite allow it to press down evenly over the contents. It presses/squashes unevenly over any amply filled sandwiches on one side towards the back requiring you to spin it around and re-toast to obtaining overall toasting and thickness.

It does not stand up for storage, and has slots in the top outer housing that will be impossible to clean. This is different to the previous version of the same model number.
