To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

Colour drawings everywhere and fiendishly creative story telling
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 June 2018Verified Purchase
A lovely continuation from the first 2 books and even more creativity.. I preordered for my daughters 9th birthday and she’s already ploughed through most of it. Lovely colour drawings liberally scattered on most pages.

Vulgar , inappropriate in parts???? but the kids love it

He’s vulgar, the books inappropriate in parts.... but you know what....my 7 year old loves it. It’s in context and kids will be able to understand the mad humour and way in which the book is written...

Fun colourful book that encourages reading
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 27 September 2018Verified Purchase
I bought this for my 10 year old nephew. He really enjoys these books, they're fun, colourful and the illustrations are great. In fact, before I wrapped it, I took a sneaky peak to see what all the fuss is about, and actually I can easily see how this book encourages reading and makes it fun and enjoyable. I quite liked what I read myself, which is an achievement as i'm not much of a reader at all, so top marks! Would recommend. The book in hardback adds quality and in particular the front cover colour of yellow and gold is vibrant and grabs your attention. Quick despatch and delivery by the seller.

It’s a must buy but different to 1 and 2
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 25 April 2019Verified Purchase
My 6 year old likes it but I can tell he doesn’t enjoy it as much as the first one in the series. Still great vocabulary and crazy stories. Exciting and silly enough to grin all the way through. But I didn’t enjoy reading it with my son much as it was a little forced for ideas and seems to try to have a harsh lesson or moral of the story at the end of each story which is a bit rushed and the twist of some quite dark endings to be a bit different, leaving my son a very bemused and a little disappointed. Nothing as good as the 1st book but better than the 2nd book which just seems to be about eating disgusting things. But that’s generally what amuses kids especially boys.
