There is a theory of missing socks that has been investigated by scientists. According to an article on the web "There are many practical reasons for sock loss rather than supernatural disappearances. Research interviews found the common causes included items falling behind radiators or under furniture without anyone realizing, stray items being added to the wrong colored wash and becoming separated from its matching sock."

On the other hand my socks have been overflowing; the opposite of missing. Am I the recipient of at least some of the missing socks? Perhaps, I am on the receiving end of an alien sock wormhole. In order to get control of my sock situation, I ordered a set of three WarmHome Foldable Storage Baskets. These are perfect. I have found that two of the baskets are all that I need: one for light colors, and one for dark colors. The third one stands in reserve to receive additional socks if they continue to drop out of the alien wormhole.
