Using microwaves to heat up food at work has always been an issue for my husband and myself. With just 2 microwaves to serve roughly 70 people who all have lunches at the same time, it often takes more than 15-20 minutes before we get to heat up our food in the microwaves. We don't have that problem anymore since we bought these food jars!
These food jars had definitely exceeded my expectations. I bought 2 of the 710mL jars initially, and was so happy with them that I bought 2 more of the 470mL ones days after.
I find that it keeps the temperature the best when you fill it right up. It doesn't perform anywhere near as good if you only partially fill it, which is why I purchased the smaller jars later on for smaller portion sizes. I also find that it keeps the temperature of liquids the best. I normally pack my lunch at 7am in the morning, and have my lunch after 12pm. Solid food like fried rice would be at a perfect temperature by lunch time, and soups would be so hot that they burn my mouth.
The jar opening is quite large, however it can still be quite tedious to put food into it. I am very grateful for the person who had recommended getting a stainless steel jam funnel for these jars. The funnel allowes me to get both solids and liquids into these jars very quickly and mess-free.
