Choosing the Perfect Quilt
When it comes to finding the right quilt, there’s more to consider than just finding the warmest quilt or best value quilt you can find. Some people prefer quilts made with natural materials, like cotton quilts, wool quilts, and feather and down quilts, which have great thermal properties. Others prefer quilts made with man-made fibres, such as polyester quilts and microfibre quilts, treated with things like anti bacterial and anti microbial treatments for added hygiene.
The most comfortable quilts are usually those that have the right balance between warmth, weight and loft. The warmth rating of quilts is usually expressed in terms of seasons, such as winter warmth quilts, all seasons warmth quilts, or summer warmth quilts. They can also be given warmth ratings, like 1 for a low warmth quilt, to 5 for a super warm quilt. Some people also look at the weight of quilts, like light weight quilts, medium weight quilts, or heavy weight quilts.
