Better fit than the silicone one, but harder to clean

I bought this to replace the silicone Tubshroom that I’ve been using for awhile. The silicone one worked well, but I’d noticed it was letting hair escape... maybe it shrunk over time?

So far so good, great fit for my shower bath. I drop way too much hair so I have to clear the TubShroom after every shower... It’s slightly more difficult to clean than the silicone one because of the rigid metal material (the silicone one is VERY easy to clean), but it’s still easy enough, definitely better then reaching into the drain to unclog it.

I am glad to have it.

Whilst this product alleges to fit every drain, that is not the case at all. Seemed like a good idea but will have to return now.

The packaging is also very annoying as impossible to get into without ripping open the packet.

The amount of hair this little thing has trapped is insane. Just goes to show how ineffective the starfish shaped silicon pad we had before was.

Once it’s full of hair the water doesn’t drain very well but it takes seconds to clean it so this doesn’t bother me as I use it as an indication that it needs cleaning

Much quicker and cheaper in the long run than pouring a bottle of acid down the drain

One concern I had before buying is that the domed shape may hurt if stepped on but we’ve not stepped on it once

I had a flower style contraption in my shower plughole catching hair and it rusted and broke. I got this to try not hoping for very much as I'd tried all sorts of hair traps. The packaging was a nightmare to open. Hard plastic enshrined the product which if you have dexterity problems which I do , makes getting into the product difficult. One knife a pair of scissors and 10 minutes later I'd got my item out and inserted it into my plughole. There are 3 adaptors in the pack for if your plughole is bigger. Its construction means it sits a little above the plughole but is very smooth to the touch and looks stylish whilst being highly practical. After the first shower I removed it and was very surprised by the amount of hair wound around it. It was super easy to clean, hair came away easily. It was amazing and no hair had escaped. I would highly recommend this product.

Check your bathtub drain type first before buying

Can see that this is a good product for bathtub with an open drain. Until we tried to fit it in ours we didn't realise this. Ours has built in catcher in the drain about 1 cm into the depth, which means it is not possible to insert the hair catcher or the stopper all the way down as illustrated. As we open the pack to get these pieces out, they are not returnable now. Quite disappointed.

Easy to clean, easy to use, doesn’t block easily like the flush ones do. 10/10 would buy again. Even got one for work - where the drains clogg with animal fur daily. With this it’s wonderful. Easy breezy. Haven’t had to buy chemical drain cleaners in months
