I LOVE theses shorts for about two hours after I first put them on, but after that they stretch too much and end up way too big everywhere but the waistband. I really want to like them more and have worn them many times because they’re super comfortable, but I definitely am not feeling great when I wear them because the fit is so unflattering once they stretch out.

These are very comfortable and well made, but they aren't 5". While losing a half inch may not seem like a big deal, my thighs disagree.
I dont know why it's so hard to find denim shorts that are 5". It seems the options for women are "are those denim underwear?" style or "bermuda".

I liked these so much I bought two pairs same size, inseam, everything but color. One pair is huge other fits as expected I’ll keep anyways but just wanted to note such a variance in the same exact product hopefully I can dry one pair on hot and shrink

I am a pear shape. And I would say these fit snug. For reference I am 5'7" 150 lbs. I got the size recommended for me, and they fit pretty snug. So if you want a looser fit, I would suggest going up a size.
