These are very slim in the calves, in fact if you’ve been working those calves, they really outline them well. I am 181cm and 36 waist, after reading reviews saying they run small I went with XL, when normally I am L.
The waist size is huge, but if I tighten the band to max they’re fine, they give a lot of give in the groin, they’re also super comfortable and very airy, you’ll feel the wind outside but after getting sweaty they’ll feel dry in moments.
I don’t know if L would be a better fit as it’s unclear if XL -> L effects more than just the waist.
I’d return them, but they’re good enough and I don’t mind keeping the band tight.
A great pair of trousers, providing you like the skinny trousers look, if you don’t - then look elsewhere, if it doesn’t bother you, they’re really comfortable and very good for workouts.
Size...I’ll tell you I could probably be 40 waist and fit in the XL, probably best to check the under armour site for their sizes first and decide what you think will fit your height and waist.
