Discolored and frayed towels after first wash

Despite following the washing instructions these towels frayed, left a ton a lint (which was expected but after reading other reviews this is common even after the 10th wash), and brownish color spots appeared on every grey towel I ordered. So, the wash cloths, hand towels and bath towels are now ALL greg with brown spots. We don’t even use any bleach products when we wash our clothes and have never had any discoloring issues with our <1yr old washer/dryer set. So, definitely the towels. I should have known because a few were frayed upon delivery but I figured I would take the loss of a few towels. But the entire set... that’s ridiculous! Definitely returning these.

We bought 4 different kinds of towels, Utopia 4ea. for 29.99, Pinzon by Amazon 4ea. for 24.99, Live Comfort, 4ea. for 24.95 and Maura Premium 4ea. for 39.99. I should have figured out how to get the products free or be paid for this review, but it is on my dime...so brutally honest. Maura was the highest price and very sturdy, but we don't like the feel and drying ability of them. Live comfort was our third choice. They get the job done, but are a little light. If I had a large family and lots of washing to do, I would buy these, because 2 or 3 times as many would fit in each load. We were torn between the Utopia and Pinzon. The Pinzon were slightly larger and they both are very heavy towels that are excellent at drying us after using soft water. The Utopia and Pinzon tie would have been broken by the fact the Pinzon were 5 dollars cheaper for the set of four, however, buyer beware...prices vary greatly on Amazon. When I went back to gather facts for this review, all of the others remained the same price except the Pinzon by Amazon are now on sale for 35.77, "marked down from 39.99", according to Amazon. I bought mine on May 28th of 2019 for 24.99. If the Pinzon were available again for 24.99, I would buy them. If not, I would buy the Utopia for 29.99. I would buy the Live Comfort if I had a large family to reduce laundry loads and this is very subjective to individual taste, but we did not like the most expensive Maura Premium at all. We would not want them at half the price.

Your whole world will be covered in lint

These towels will cover your house and bathroom with lint and fall apart after just a few washes. I ordered blue ones and will be cleaning fine blue dust from every surface of the bathroom for the rest of my natural life. I'm not talking just a little lint here, but supernatural amounts of it. I have no idea how it is so widely distributed. There must be some sort of particle repellent forcefield built into the towel to cause the amazing dispersion of fine blue lint. Really, look for another brand.

Also after one wash, there were several loose threads on all of the towels. After two washes, there were several more. Where will it end? Will these fray apart to individual threads and clog my washing machine? What have I gotten myself into?

It's not good to live with regret, but I regret buying these towels.

Poor dye quality

I ordered 4 sets of theses towels. When they arrived we washed them with Tide Pods. Every single one of them has what looks like bleach spots because the towels weren't dyed properly. I also bought 2 12 packs of matching wash cloths. They came out just fine. I cannot comment on th equality of the towel as far as absorbency because we haven't used them yet. I expect better considering the cost of these towels.
