"This book has everything you need to capture the beauty of the natural world through watercolor--no prior experience needed!" --Kolbie Blume, artist, art educator and author of Wilderness Watercolor Landscapes
"Rosalie Haizlett will be your guide, coach and support system as you venture out in nature with brush and palette." --John Muir Laws, author of The Laws Guide to Nature Drawing and Journaling
Watercolor in Nature is not only a treasure box of tips and techniques, but a surprisingly inspirational intersection of creativity, nature and well-being. --Maggie Enterrios, illustrator and author of Flowerscape
Along with teaching how to paint, Rosalie also lets us slow down and rediscover our own sense of wonder in the close-up details of nature. This book is a celebration of curiosity as much as it is a practical guide to learning the tools and techniques of watercolor. --Gale Straub, creator of She Explores
"This book will teach you magic painting skills for capturing nature, but more surprisingly, it does something even more fundamental: it creates an environment where you will most certainly be captured by the magic of nature!" --Andy J. Pizza, illustrator and founder of the Creative Pep Talk podcast

About the author

Hello! I’m Rosalie. I’m an illustrator who specializes in creating captivating hand-rendered visuals that celebrate the natural world.
I use illustration to honor the places and creatures that often go unnoticed. My goal is to remind viewers of the amazing intricacy of our planet. I hope that after seeing my work, people will spend a few more minutes scouring the forest floor for tiny treasures on their next adventure into the woods.
Recently, I was honored to be the Artist-in-Residence at Great Smoky Mountains National Park and with the National Audubon Society in Maine. My clients include the Smithsonian and the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service.
I am also an educator. So far, I’ve enjoyed teaching watercolor & outdoor observation workshops in schools, national parks and REI stores. I’ve also taught tens of thousands of students online as a Top Teacher at Skillshare. My first book, Watercolor in Nature: Paint Woodland Wildlife and Botanicals with 20 Beginner-Friendly Projects, will be published by Page Street Publishing Co. in November 2021.
