About the author

Kolbie Blume is a self-taught artist, writer, and adventure-seeker (a lot of those adventures happen at her desk). Through her popular art Instagram account, This Writing Desk, and her online classes and tutorials, she has taught thousands of students worldwide to love watercolor and embrace the power of imperfect creativity. Her passion is helping closet creatives say to themselves "actually, I think I CAN do that" because she wholeheartedly believes that's what will make the world a more beautiful place.
When she's not painting mountains or misty pines, you can usually find her buried in a good book, binging the Great British Baking Show with her husband, or doing her best to get a belly laugh out of her kid.
(Fun fact: She wrote a lot of her first book with her newborn son asleep, strapped to her chest.)
You can find more of her work and her story at www.thiswritingdesk.com.

I would highly recommend this to people of all skill levels. I myself have been painting for a few years (though hardly an expert!) but I still found this book incredibly helpful and learned quite a few new tricks!
