I have no issues with timings or delays in connectivity. Apart from the alerts I can also turn on a live view as I require.

It is "Yes" and more, once the camera detect a motion it will send an alert to the nominated smartphone. You can tap the notification and the "Ring app" will open and show you the live feed. It also recorded to "Ring Cloud" which requires subscription once the trial period is over.

A "delay" can happen "problem connecting" can occur if your WiFi connection is congested and your internet is slow. These are variables that are beyond anyone is able to tell you.

My personal experience is I am very satisfied with the powered Ring cameras. Not so much with the battery operated ones. See less

If you have good wifi connection you should get great connection - needs to initialise on app but this is daily instantaneous. I have other wifi cctv and this is one of the better ones - subscription is a bit steep as I have two ring devices and each require subscription - not happy about this aspect of ring devices
