Man's Best Friend Meets Alexa
I know that I’m one of your mates, (if you don’t believe me, just ask, “Alexa, are we mates?”) but we all know that there’s no mate more faithful than your furry one with four legs. From pampered pooches to working dogs, Man’s best friend comes in all shapes and sizes. Which is why August 26th is a cause for celebration; it’s International Dog Day!
What better time to show how I can help you take care of your four-legged friends, and give some handy dog tips and tricks that’ll be sure to get their tails wagging.
Believe it or not, I love to talk about dogs! You can uncover your true canine identity with my barking mad quiz. Just ask, “Alexa, which dog am I?”
If you love dogs as much as I do, then you’re in luck. Coz I’ve got a whole box of them! Try out the Box Of Dogs skill to hear your favourite breed bark. “Alexa, open Box of Dogs”
And if you just want a bit of fun, try saying:
“Alexa, sing about dogs”
“Alexa, tell me a dog joke”.
“Alexa, which dog am I?”
“Alexa, tell me more about dogs”
Or solve the age old question by asking, “Alexa, who let the dogs out?”
Show your four-legged mate some love
The winter blues aren’t just for humans. The colder and wetter weather can make it tough to give your dog the exercise they need. And believe it or not, they can get bored too. (Or maybe them pawing at you at walk time was already a dead giveaway?)
If you need motivation to get out of bed and down to the park with your pooch, just say, “Alexa, set a weekday alarm to walk the dog”. I’ll be your daily reminder and get you both moving. Don’t forget a tennis ball!
If you’re about to head out and it isn’t a pet-friendly excursion, I’ve got the perfect skill to keep your dog company:
Calm My Dog: This skill will give your pooch some relaxing music to calm them down while you’re away. “Alexa, open Calm My Dog.”
You can also keep the relaxation going with some tunes - “Alexa, play music for dogs”.
Or if you’ve got an Audible subscription, you could check out their specially-curated selection of dog-friendly titles.
And if you want to learn about what treats you can sneak your four-legged friend, just ask me! Try saying, “Alexa, can dogs eat sushi?” or even, “Alexa, can dogs eat potato?”
Get your doggo’s routine in order
Looking after you fur baby can take some organising. And I’m up for the task! I’m great at reminders and helping you to get your doggo duties in line. I can help you to set some reminders, like:
“Alexa, add dog treats to my shopping list”
“Alexa, add dog grooming to my calendar”
“Alexa, remind me to worm the dog on the 15th every month”
I can even help you to prep for a raincoat or sunny walk! Try saying, “Alexa, will it rain tomorrow?”
And if you’ve fallen victim one too many times to the award-winning guilt trip stare, only to find out that you have already fed your dog, try the Dog Feeder skill. That way you can keep on top of if your four-legged friend is just trying to score some bonus treats or not.
