Try waking up with mindfulness

There’s nothing quite like kicking off your day in a calming way. Simply start by waking gently with an ascending alarm.

Here’s how to set it up:

  1. Tap More on the bottom bar, then tap Alarms & Timers.
  2. Tap Settings, and then choose the device you want for the alarm.
  3. Next, select the sound. Alexa has over a dozen options, from soothing Glimmer to more traditional ones like Countertop. Tap on the alarm sound name, and you'll get an audio preview.
  4. Slide the sound bar to adjust your volume.
  5. Lastly, toggle the Ascending Alarm button on to activate the feature. Blue means it’s active. Then all you’ll have to do is say, “Alexa, set an ascending alarm” and I’ll be sure to wake you up in the most peaceful way possible!

Decompress during the workday

Some days are full of meetings and others have looming deadlines, I get it. But I’m here to help you to bring some order to what may feel very disorderly! You can start by setting yourself some reminders, so that I can help ease some of the mental burden. Here are some ideas:

“Alexa, set a reminder to pay my phone bill”
“Alexa, set a reminder to feed the cat”
“Alexa, set a reminder for my 2pm meeting”
“Alexa, set a reminder to put the washing in the dryer”

But most importantly, take some time away from your computer screen, even for a few moments! Try stepping away from your desk and saying, “Alexa, set a 2 minute meditation timer”, close your eyes and take a few deep breaths. You’ve earned it!

Getting the family organised

Chipping away at the old To Do list doesn’t have to be impossible. Try saying, “Alexa, create a To Do list” and I’ll be there to help you out in staying on top of your tasks. I can also help to make multitasking at meal times a dream. Wanting to do some laundry while your dinner is in the oven? No worries! Try saying, “Alexa, set a timer for the lasagne” and I’ll be sure to alert you when your dinner is ready.
