Alexa has a bunch of skills and features to help you beat burnout, de-stress and drift off to sleep. Here are our favourite ways to chill out...
Recharge your batteries with a quick power nap. Just say...
“Alexa, set a timer for 20 mins”
Help the little ones drift off with lullabies and bedtime story skills.
“Alexa, open Bedtime Explorers”
“Alexa, open Stolen Stars of Matariki”
“Alexa, ask Amazon Storytime to tell me a bedtime story”
"Alexa, sing a lullaby"
Please note: Before children can get started with the featured skills, an adult is required to enable skills for kids in the Alexa app. To do this, open the app, go to More > Settings > Account Settings > Kid Skills and press the Allow Kid Skills toggle.
With a single phrase, Alexa can perform a series of actions, such as setting your morning alarm, playing relaxing sounds and turning off the lights. To setup a routine, visit the Alexa app and follow these steps:
1. Select More on the bottom right of the screen.
2. Select Routines.
3. Select the + sign to create a routine.
Alternatively, if you would like to setup a default routine, such as Goodnight, where Alexa will wish you goodnight, select the Featured tab. To customise this experience, select Goodnight, followed by Add action. For example, you could add an action to automatically turn off all the lights under Smart Home or preset your device volume under Device Settings.
Having to get up to flick a light switch could become a thing of the past, thanks to voice-controlled lights with Alexa.
“Alexa, turn off the bedroom lights”
“Alexa, dim the bedroom lights”
“Alexa, open Night Light”
“Alexa, open Night Night”
