If this is the first loupe you are looking to use, then I strongly recommend that you start with a basic 10X magnification. There's a knack to using a loupe, and the 40X magnification on this can be awkward to focus on things like hallmarks. It's also heavier than a basic loupe, and bulkier. But if you're looking for 40X magnification, then this loupe is great.
The plastic box it came in feels fairly robust, and it fits neatly inside on a soft mount, so it won't rattle about inside if you want to keep it in a bag when you're out and about.
The LED is bright - watch out when holding it close to the eye near any reflective surface! - and really effective. The ultra-violet setting is also effective.
Do be aware that the key which is mentioned in the instructions is the round, flat disc thing that is in the base of the plastic box.
This useful little thing is brilliant for picking out obscured hallmarks and doing a detailed examination of vintage stuff for damage. It also shows all the nooks and crannies where you've missed cleaning an item!

Don't let the low price fool you. This is solidly made - a good metal magnifier with a quality lens. It is fitted with a white light and has an additional blue light, which can be very useful at showing things up during inspection. It is perfect for examining jewellery, reading hallmarks and so on. It comes with a stout protective plastic case and a tool for replacing the battery. I thoroughly recommend it.

This is a really well made magnifier with a much clearer and wider field of view than more cheaply made items. The led lighting is very neatly housed and the white light is quite bright. The whole thing is snugly housed in a protective plastic case with a special tool to open the battery compartment. Although I don't need the blue led I understand it could be useful for some users. This really is an excellent magnifier and at an extremely good price.

I needed a better magnifying glass with a light and this meets all my requirements and then some. I have multiple jewelers magnifying glasses of various strengths and sizes but none with a light to see in the shadow or dark, this iKKEGOL 40x25 all metal magnifying jewelers glass and case is a larger magnifying glass because it contains lights and batteries but this more than makes up for it because the ability to see in the dark with either two white LED lights or the single blue UV light to look for forgeries on bank notes under UV light. I love this device and I am going to order another.
