The globe looks just as it was pictured, and it is pretty., Suitable for the living room. My issue, and the reason I did not give it five stars is that the cork is too thin for the pins that came with it, which are the standard sized little map pins. I ordered some nice metallic colored pens from Amazon that are the same length as the ones that came with the globe… Unfortunately, as you can see in the picture, they stick way out. The cork layer is very thin and the layer beneath it is not penetrated by pushpins, so you can only put the pushpin in perhaps a quarter inch, perhaps less. I am having to take a pliers and nip all of the pins down.
