This is a good book and I think would genuinely help you lose a lot of weight if you stuck to it. Sadly, I only made to the end of day 2 on the cleanse as I felt too hungry and had a terrible headache!
interesting but fails to address the working person's dilemma what to take to work will refer to this for more consideration and will check out website to see if more support there well worth the price paid to warehouse for used/returned item
I bought this because I wanted to learn more about the process of ruling out what foods are friendly and what are reactive. I was not disappointed there. The author missed the mark on a major fact: Go get your blood tested through your naturopath for common food allergies (reactivity). Then start right away eliminating all the reactive foods from your diet. If I started with the menu the author recommends, I would be sicker than hell because they would be reactive for me. She does clarify that no foods are good or bad, they are either reactive or friendly for you individually. For example: if corn gives you bloating, belching, flatulence, weight gain, etc, etc, you are reactive & should not be eating it. It seems so common sense but she is right, over 70% of our immune system is in our gut. It makes sense we should honor it by listening to our body & feeding it friendly foods to feel well. It is worth the read.
I have read a lot about this type of regime. Recipes look good. Prefer the keto approach. Having said that I was most pleased with the condition of the and price of the "used" book. I shall definitely buy used again. Also, at the used price it was well worth researching.
This will work, however, it's not a very realistic lifestyle in my opinion.. if I didn't have children it probably would be. My entire weekends were spent doing prep work for the week ahead. an ENTIRE weekend. then i came home and spent about 45 min to an hour making dinner. good idea, but it's exhausting. I gave up.
It seems like a good "Plan" but it was not for me. After spending two days purchasing and preparing a bunch of food I got extremely ill on day one and stopped it right away. I was using it more as an elimination diet to see if I had food sensitvities and I am actually underweight and did not need to loose weight. I would somewhat recommend it just did not work for my system.
The book does sound quite interesting. However, after making up a grocery list of products I needed just to start the first 3 days I was a bit overwhelmed. My husband and I were both going to go on it , but there he no way he could consume the amount of water he would have to drink for his weight.
