The fit of the bodice is incredible, but like other reviews say, you do have to go up a size or two in your usual band size and go down a size or two in your bust size. As well, the cups shape the bust in a way that makes them very pointy, which imo isn't a good look at all.
This is both too large and too small, but it’s a gamble due to weird sizing (can’t tell it it’s UK Or US) and also needing to order a “sister size” because my bizarro 32G (UK) doesn’t exist in this brand, I don’t think. Also despite having a tiny rib cage I have a bit of a belly so I went with the 36FF, exchanged for 36F, cups still lightly too large (never had the issue in my life) so I reordered in 36DD which I didn’t think would fit, but it does! BUT the underwire and support boning are crooked and off center so I am returning and reordering. No joke I have $$$ in pending orders and returns.
I have worn this bra in the past, when I was slimmer, and I have found that even though I have a short torso (I am under 5’ tall) I need the longline support so the bra doesn’t slide around. That’s what’s lead me back to this bra, because while it may not be attractive it serves it’s purpose.
While this bra fits, and is “sort of” comfortable, it gives me boobs a sort of sideways conical “Madonna in the 80s” shape. No cleavage whatsoever. Also there is no molding/padding so nips will show, there is no clear silicon gel along the edges to hold it up, and the elastic bottom probably hits normal to taller women halfway through the abdomen and creates unflattering bulges. I am very short so it reaches pretty far on my torso but I will still use shapewear for belly bulge - it’s like a reverse muffin top LOL
I am struggling to find a bra to wear under my strapless wedding dress and even though this isn’t perfect I think it’s probably the best thing I can find for my size/sister size.
This got so many good reviews I was excited, but frankly I wasn't impressed. The material was pretty low quality and scratchy, and the sizing and fit was just strange. I have a small rib cage/waist with a large bust, and there was extra in the ribs and it was just wrong in the bust, but not even in an actual wrong size way. Like the cups did fit in terms of volume, but the angle of them was so weird that they didn't fit- too small across the top and too large across the bustline, and just bad. The length was also off. Other reviews had mentioned the sizing being weird, and having to return a few times, but this just wasn't worth the trouble for me. It just cemented my resolve to finish the 1940s/50s brassiere project I'd been working on- which I did to great success.
In the process of a move I misplaced my bustier which I use often. So temporarily I needed to replace it. I'm well blessed in the chest department so I was very skeptical to purchase something online. I read and re-read the reviews. I went with my normal bra size. BIG MISTAKE! If you go with your normal bra size than I suggest you make sure that you increase the bandwidth as you have to accommodate your body size too. I did not think about that, I'm a bigger woman, so when I received the product I got a BIG surprise. It didn't fit...almost. What I mean is that the cup size was perfect but I couldn't close the bustier. I ended up going and getting extensions for the back and BAM it fit. Not the most glamourous way to do it but it worked. Luckily in a pinch it worked for what I needed it for but I probably will not buy this again...at least not online.
I normally wear a 40DD, I ordered a 40DD. It is not something I can put on alone, my fiance had to close the hooks. It is snug as a 40 but it is supportive and doesn't feel like it will loose its support that way, its not uncomfortable tight just a good bit of snug. The cups are weird though, very Madonna like a virgin or old style 50s pointy bras even on the DDs. And for all the women who have one slightly larger then the other, its kinda evident with this bra which is which, but I think it'll do the trick for the wedding dress. And hey, its not the $80+ dollars like the bridal boutiques so I'm good with it. The under wires are kinda weird and I actually had to fully bend over and lift myself into the cups, they sit a little higher than most of my other bras. And it stops above your belly button like 3 inches, and I'm a short 5 foot. So of course my muffin top became a fairly apparent cheeto roll, but with the spanex it all evens out in the jelly department, lol.
I don’t know why people are saying to size up the band. That did not work for me. What did work was keeping my normal band size and going down a cup size because the cups are HUGE. This would be a great bra for someone with a large chest and average length waist. But for me, a C cup and short waisted I had to go down to a B. It still wrinkles under the cup because it’s too long for me but that’s what always happens since I’m shorter than average and I will live with it since I will be wearing a corset over it anyway. My advice, if you are a C get a B, if you are a B or smaller keep looking. This bra also gives a vintage bullet bra shape which I love but some may not.
I followed the advice of other reviewers and sized up on the band size and down on the cup size. This advice I clearly should NOT have followed because there was a lot of gapping in the waist and the cups were too small. If you have more of an hour-glass figure, I would definitely get your real band size. If your waist does not really indent, then the other reviewers' advice may actually work for you. I'd try your real size first, and get a bra extender if needed. Or, buy several sizes at once planning to return the ones that do not work.
Otherwise, I thought the boning was interesting. The premise seems like it may work and be supportive if you can get your size right. I couldn't fully assess the bra's functionality as I did not have the correct size (hence the 3-star rating).
Make sure you spread out the cups completely before trying to put it on. The boning in the cups can be somewhat painful if you don't! You may need assistance to fasten this bra. Putting it on with the fasteners in the front and twisting it around doesn't work so well as your incorrect breast will get caught in the incorrect cup as you're trying to turn it all the way around.
After reading other reviews, I ended up ordering a 44B, which is one band size up and one cup size down from my usual bra size (42C). The band fit wonderfully all around but the cups were way too big! Like so large that I would probably have to go down two additional cup sizes from what I ordered, which unfortunately isn't an option for this bra. I ended up having to return it and go with something else. I did give it three stars because the fit in the bodice was very comfortable, the lace was not itchy like some others, and I think this bra may work for some larger busted ladies. Also something I didn't realize before ordering is that the cups are made of a completely sheer lace.
The fit was good and the it was comfortable for approximately 9-10hours. I used it under my bridesmaid dress for a wedding. It was better than a strapless bra because of my cup size and how heavy my breasts are and I have a bigger stomach. Towards the end of the night, the wiring began pushong into me and was uncomfortable but, I have had this issue with other bras/bustiers. If you have a smaller cup size and smaller to no stomach I think this would be perfect.
