I have many 34B Shock Absorber bras and I went for a 32B as thats what was in stock at this price. I have one already in this smaller size in a different style which is very tight but good for running. This one wouldn't even pull down over my boobs so I feel this style comes up small. I am now paying the return postage which is not great. The bra itself is a great style but I have found an 'imitation' for half the price which is, I would say nearly as good.
I've seen many reviews noting that this bra is difficult to put on. And also a few reviews scoffing at people who haven't mastered the art of putting it on. And it IS an art. I've managed it once, but the rest of the time my husband has to do it.
I bought this after receiving a selection of similar bras on the very useful 'Amazon Wardrobe' scheme and choosing this one for comfort. I do wish it had a slightly lower 'neckline' at the front as it tends to show with most things. However it's more attractive than many sports bras. It shows through under anything white, especially the contraption of straps at the back.
I'd recommend it for comfort but if you have any sort of limited mobility or don't have someone handy to assist don't underestimate how tricky it is. Maybe my rather generous bosoms make my mobility more limited, they do tend to get in the way of things (which is why I'm buying a bra that costs this much).
I’ve had several bras from Shock Absorber - all of them have been brilliant. They’ve fit and washed really well, and they’ve been comfortable and very supportive. This bra is the same size I would usually order but the band is very tight. The cups are also on the small side. It fits, but would have marked it as a 30F as opposed to a 32F. Other than that, it’s a perfectly decent bra, just poor sizing
This is my third shock absorber but this one just isn't fit for purpose. The strap keeps slipping out of the little plastic adjuster. I don't always like the neck support on so it can feel restrictive but then it all just pings. Not sure if it's fake or just a different part used but I wish they'd change it back.
I bought this based on how good my old Shock Absorber bra is, with all the good reviews and awards it's won I was expecting it to be as supportive, if not better. When I first tried it on I LOVED it, so much more flattering than the other model I had, but with a few runs up and down the stairs (especially coming down!!) it became apparent that it just didn't match up to my older bra. It's all made from one piece of stretchy material meaning there's quite a lot of give in it, the other model is more structured. If you want to look fab and do low impact sport, it's perfect as it is really flattering and is supportive for low/medium impact sport... but for running/high impact support, go for the 'Shock Absorber D+ Classic Support Sports Bra' instead.
I'm usually a 34 but should have ordered a 38, as I couldn't even fasten it (not even close!). So I returned it. Also the cup size was too big. Buying a sports bra online is proving to be very difficult. Think I'll need to wait for the shops to reopen. Great sports bra though - my old one was fantastic but unfortunately my boobs are too big to squeeze into it now.
Unless you already know your size as you have tried the EXACT one on elsewhere or own one already OH MY DAYS SIZING IS #awkward. Normal bra size to small, find a sizng guide so go by that to big, so decide to meet in the middle - not stock available 🙈
The quality of the bra is great. I bought my usual size 34F but reading reviews also got the 36E. 36 was right, the 34 was painful to wear. Seems to hold things in well but the faff to get on and off is ridiculous. I turned it on back to front, did it up, then swung it round, but to do the top clip up was very difficult and involved a few swear words. I ended up getting one from marks and spencer. It was more comfortable, easier to put on and cheaper too.
Not a very comfortable piece of gear at all. The fabric on this Bra feels cheap, the inner lining is made of a polyester knit that has been stretched to make room for the breasts and it's bigger than the outer layer, so the inner fabric gathers making wrinkles that are visible through the outer layer, while not being enough fabric to give room for the shape of the breast. I am only a B cup so anyone bigger could not fit into it.
Then the upper clasp is difficult to close, it is a two part U -sliding clasp, like you often get in bathing suits, except that it is located right in the middle of your upper back where it is the most difficult to reach, and also it is the wrong way around for a right handed person so it takes quite a few tries to get it fastened. Not something you want to be doing in a gym full of people...
I tried the bra this morning during my Qi Gong practice and my shoulder and sides of the breast by the arm pits, were shafted red by the thick seams of the bra's outer edges of the sides and the straps.
All in all not a good experience, will send it back if I can.
I usually buy the Shock Absorber Active D+ bra in a 30E but they seem to be discontinuing it. I got this one in the same size and the band is TINY. For comparison I compared it to a new Active D+ bra, same brand, same label size, except there is at least a 2inch difference in the band. I can't return as I'm still self-isolating and don't want to go to the post office. I just assumed I'd be safe sticking with the same size in the same brand. Apparently not. If you buy this bra go up at least one back size and adjust the cup size accordingly.
