Belt is the main problem with these shorts. They are comfortable, durable, and fit well but the accompanying belt leaves little to be desired. It’s difficult to buckle, curls between the belt loops, and difficult to remove. I would buy the shorts again but the belt is horrible. They need to make these with a built in liner and belt. Fashion them after water shorts.
Wished they had a dedicated phone pocket like some others. Love the look of the shorts, but with the pocket design, if you put your wallet on one side and your phone on the other, you'll get "floppy shorts". The other Lees shorts have the dedicated phone pocket which is amazing (even for my 8s Plus with a case. Otherwise great and comfortable shorts, but not my go to as the others with the better pocket design are....
These run big. I am a 36"-38" waist, depending on what I ate for supper. I bought the 38" pair. They were huge and I had to return them. I loved the pockets and they seemed decent quality though. Lee makes great jeans. I also don't care for shorts that hang down to my knees. Shorts rubbing against the back of my knees drives me nuts. I'm sorry guys, but we all look like idiots wearing long shorts. I further researched and found 6" inseam shorts. I wish a major manufacturer (like Lee) would produce a 6" inseam cargo shorts. They would amazed how many 40+ years olds would buy them.
My husband is normally a big fan of this brand. When I gave him the shorts I ordered and he put them on he made the remark that they “weren’t the same” “they are cheeper made” he was disappointed. So we are hoping they hold up like the pairs he already has.
I prefer all button pockets, not velcro and 2 inch deep pockets are a waste. These shorts are a hair too long as well. They'll do for now but I wouldn't purchase this particular model again, just based on my own requirements.
These shorts were very high quality and would fit the bill for most buyers, however I carry a LOT of tools and junk in my pockets so these didn't work for me. I ended up giving them to a buddy who wears them a lot and he has no complaints about them. I finally settled on Duluth Fire Hose work shorts because they had the required number of pockets.
I wear a 38 all the time. It's even super loose on some pants. These are tight. I never thought that would happen with an american brand. I also bought another pair of shorts at the same time as this-much less money and fit perfectly.
The pants themselves are fine. They fit as expected, are comfortable and seem well constructed. The belt that comes with them is garbage, specifically the buckle. It is a bit difficult to open and close, but the main problem is it's blocky size and shape. It sticks into my gut and is very uncomfortable. They should get rid of it and lower the price on the pants.
