The tangle free mechanism does work. Compared to other $12 brush accessories this one won’t tangle. The channels in the bottom also allow the suction to grab hair and dirt well.
However this as perhaps all vacuum head accessories does get clogged or jammed In this case INSIDE of the lower inlet after the brushes. The brush mechanisms work well but if there is any time a mass gets to the inlet which is 20 or 30 mm wide it slows down. If you have enough debris coming in then that can cause a clog. The brushes keep rotating but you can hear them slowing down and the same channels that had suction have a blow back due to the lack of vacuum and now blockack as the brushes rotate out the debris.
To resolve this remove the accessory and clean out the upper part of the inlet from the ameassed hair. In my case it amazes hair and some dust. You should be able to see the top of the brushes if it clear. If not there is still debris. Once that is restored the unit is back to normal.
Since spending $12 x 3 on the various low cost accessories I am glad to see this did not fall apart like the rest which is good. But it does get clogged so it’s not maintainence free as it may suggest unless the debris load is light. Despite this maintainence I would rather have bought the one device than the 3 others that broke prior to this one.
For as much as I paid for this, I expected more. It’s ok. The brushes get caked full of hair and I haven’t figured out how to clean them without actually spending a lot of time picking it out by hand. I got it to clean the pet hair off of my couch. Maybe the fault isn’t in the actual device, maybe it’s just not great with this fabric but I hoped for more
I am using it with my cordless dyson as the original attachment stopped spinning. It is small maybe 5 inches across so it takes more passes to get things clean. Works great on hard floors, not as well on carpet and will stop turning all together on upholstry like the dog bed or cushions. I am just glad I didn't pay $60 for it. While it does not tangle I still need to remove pet fur from the bristles after I use it.
While the Turbine functions exactly as it says it will, it's really narrow. I should have read the description more closely - I was hoping for something that attached to the front of the vacuum cleaner, not something that attaches to the hose. The one time I've had the patience to go over my carpet with this (it's about 5 inches wide) it got the carpet cleaner than I've ever seen it, so the technology is great, it just takes a lot more effort than I am generally willing to put into getting all the cat hair out of my carpet. I wish Dyson would come out with a vacuum that uses this approach instead of the wimpy brush bristles - THAT would be an amazing vacuum cleaner.
Is surprisingly very noisy, much more so than my older Dyson pet attachment with the standard rotary wheel and I don't think the suction is as good as on the older model. To be honest I think the original pet attachment picked up better although threads did get wound around the brush and were much harder to clean than this design. This attachment does loosen hair with its rotary brushes and is much easier to clean, but doesn't pick up as well so I need to use the regular sofa attachment to suck everything up afterwards.
While this vacuum tool does not tangle up, it does have two major faults. The worst is the range of up and down motion. You must hold the tool at just the right angle or it does not work. The second fault is that it does not swivel from side to side to get around objects (IE: coffee table). I also strongly urge you to pay attention to the size of this tool, it is very narrow. It is purely a hand tool and is a struggle to use at the end of a vacuum wand do to the lack of motion range.
My hair is apparently too long for this to pick up; it tangles it into a ball (which I then try to grab and feed to the vacuum -_-) I would have liked a wider blade, too; thank goodness our apartment is small or vacuuming would take longer! (It does make it very maneuverable though.)
I was very excited about this product since I have a lot of hair and I have to cut it out of the other extensions all the time. I read it was smaller but still thought it would work better. I don't feel like you get as much suction through it and it does take a lot longer to clean up since its smaller. I have hard woods floors in most places and I couldn't find out if it was safe for hard wood floors, so I use a different extension. They are definitely on to something, hopefully they make improvements in the future!
