Brilliant. Funny. Action packed and smart. I've literally fallen in love with this series ;D I'd recommend this series to anyone and everyone if only I had their emails. This book alone has made me cry at least 3 times ;n; ... Not saying I'm a cry baby, just saying that you get really into the series, and feel like you're a part of it. Of something... great. Please read this series, it'll change you're perspective on life and the people around you. And I wish Derek all the best ;)
This is an amazing book that is well written and suspenseful. I was intrigued by the sorcery and the characters as they thrived in this novel. I would recommend this book to everyone that wants a little magic in their life.
I have been following the wild world of Derek Landy's Skulduggery Pleasant since friends got me the first book for my birthday a few years ago. After racing through the remaining books that were out I now have to wait for a fresh instalment every year. It's never an easy wait but this year offered us double the fun, what with Tanith Low getting her own dark caper out there in April. Last of the Dead Men is a big old read and, for me, a little slow to start with compared to the previous stories. Still, though, once it gets going this one will take your breath away. It is one huge, spiralling web of war, deceit and sacrifice that will leave you struggling to hold in the gasps. A great read, a true blockbuster. Roll on next year!
this book is amazing and this book on gets better and better,SPOILER Ravel kills ghastly and shudder ps my fave disipline is ambidextrous bonebreaker and necromancer :D anyone who loves wit comedy and completely awespme fight scenesread the series from start to finish and cant wait for the 14th book!!!!!! -XDeathMasterX
After reading the book, I'm a bit disappointed, because it has an aweful lot of fighting and at the same time a lot less magic in it. It seems, a lot of the fighting is done with guns and rifles, rather than air and shadows :-(. There's not much flying and doing magic at all. Also the tension is rising and does not get resolved at the end of the book. Now we have to wait another year!!!! until we finally find out. Over all though, the book is rather interesting and "unputdownable". Let's hope for a happy ending to the series - although we would have preferred another 10 or so books before the finale ;-).
This is the penultimate book in this thrilling series and it is by best my favorite. We see a little more Darquesse action whilst the war between mages rages. Whilst this book is my favorite I must admit tthat I was sad when we lost a few of our characters and was thoroughly shocked to discover who the man with the golden eyes was (finally). I can't wait for the final book even if it will make me sad that it is the final book. I'd recommend this book to anyone adult, teenager or child, who likes action, adventure, witty comments and magic.
The Skulduggery books just get better and better. I love reading these and highly recommend them. Since a great cast of characters and so many twists and turns make for an exciting, breath taking read.
