This is an incredible piece of writing, explaining the complex thoughts of a child who could not talk. As he grows up you see how intelligent he is but his sensory difficulties trip him up ... and he still can’t talk.
Beautifully written and a really personal account of being autistic. I feel it is especially important as the writer is nonverbal and part of the book addresses the acquisition of language and using it to communicate in a nonverbal way. So very important. I hope with the Internet, the visibility of nonverbal autistic people will become larger and larger. We need more people all over the Autism spectrum with all the added difficulties that Autism can bring and all the comorbid conditions that often occur, to talk about themselves, their lives etc. Autistic people need to be foremost in their lives, in the public voice on Autism. This book is a wonderful part of that.
I really enjoyed this. Not something i would normally read and I'm into Crime & Mystery. Glad i read it tho, it makes you think about what goes on in the minds of those who cannot speak. This is one intelligent guy
