kids love the shirt, but colors run onto everything

Went to Mexico and no one got burnt under the shirt. I like a little extra room to grow so the fit is good. I bought the small (8) for 50 inch/50lbs kids and they are great. I just changed this from a 5 star to a 1 star because the kids left the pink shirt in the laundry basket and now the basket in bright pink. I am glad they did not leave it on the floor or I would have a pink shirt size stain on the carpet. We will probably buy another one but only white. I have soaked this pink shirt in water for days and every day I rinse out a very large amount of pink dye. Not sure if it will ever stop bleeding color. I have tried to return this shirt but it was over 30 days so they will not take it back.

Bought 2 of these. Wife and I have another manufacturer version. When these shirts are wet you can see they are almost transparent. After one use they are showing signs of yellowing compared to the other manufacturer who is still bright white.

The weirdest thing also happened, the sand gets stuck in-between the fibers so you have a white shirt with millions of black dots. We are trying to get the shirts clean and you have to pull the fabric apart and hold under a strong stream. Very time consuming, I wish I would have used them within the 30 days amazon return, I would have sent these back. Not a fan!

I have emailed this company 3 separate times one week apart. Zero response. All I want to know is how to remove sand from the shirt which is supposed to be used in the ocean! Sand is still stuck in the fiber till this point and looks like the shirts are filthy, which obviously renders them unusable. Fabric is also a light yellow after one use in the ocean. STAY AWAY FROM THIS SHADY COMPANY.

I don’t know what we did wrong here, but this rashie completely lost its shape over a month of use (used a few times a week in the pool or playing at a water table). The top is now really baggy. She is just swimming in it - it got so stretched out, it’s crazy. The sleeves are now about 8 inches too long. How is that even possible? We bought this brand for her last summer (12 mo) and didn’t have any issues, so I don’t know what went wrong here. But the rashie is just ridiculous. Our daughter had water safety classes this summer and the instructor actually asked us to stop putting it on her after a week because it was too big and getting in the way of her hands (even when I rolled it up, the sleeves would still drool down) when moving in the water. Yikes.

As with My other review on the navy colored one, this shirt also completely came apart in less than two weeks of wear. See pictures. Which we don’t understand because we have purchased these in the past and they’ve lasted for a couple of years. It was always a good brand. BEWARE of this brand's very poor quality. I bought 5 rash guards for my family in may. My husband and daughter this kanu brand, my boys clearance from target and old navy for myself. I thought they were all the same, if anything I was a bit worried of the target ones because they were bright yellow and cobalt blue and I was afraid of discoloration. Boy was I wrong!!! Both Kanu rash guards virtually disintegrated during our vacation. They not only faded faster than the others (which didn't fade much, by the way) the fabric thinned and became transparent.
All the swim wear got the same exposure to sun, water, chlorine, etc. All the swimwear was rinsed every night and washed on a gentle cycle every other day. We had to buy replacement for the kanu shirts half way because they no longer provided protection. Here are the pictures. The first picture actually shows the faded rash guards and the second picture is from the first day at the beach.

Poorly made and peeling design after first use

Horribly made. I have bought Kanu swim tops for my kids for years. However, this specific shirt was obviously made badly or is defective. My daughter wore it ONCE and the design started to peel off. She didn’t even wear it in chlorine- just the sprinkler and blow up pool with hose water. We washed on gentle and laid flat to dry. My son has two rash guards in blue and red that were washed the same way and neither of his did this. Only this pink one. Obviously something wasn’t done right in the making of this top. We are past our return window because I bought this early just to make sure we got the color my daughter wanted. She wore it for the first time this last weekend and it is ruined. I am very unhappy with the quality of this. Amazon or Kanu Surf needs to make it right. I won’t be buying other products from them anymore if this is the new quality of what they are selling. A total waste of money.

We ordered this item for my kid 2 years ago. It was perfect then.
This new one, is awful!!’ If I could give it a minus or zero rating, I definitely would. It’s practically see through and very stretchy after it gets wet! The fabric is cheap and flimsy and so terrible.
Do not buy this item unless you and your kid don’t mind being embarrassed.
