I have only had this mat for a little while, but it is so much thicker and softer than my previous memory foam bath mat. It is also much, much more absorbent than other mats I have owned, which I would have to hang to dry after my boyfriend showers. This soaks up all the water and is nice to stand on.
I have not tried cleaning it yet except to use a hand vac on it, so I cannot comment on cleaning.
I now use this microfiber / memory foam bath rug for the area in front of my bathroom vanity, where I stand for a lengthy amount of time several times a day.
I spend 80 – 85% of my day in an upright and standing position, and by evening, my legs are aching, and my feet are tired too. The last thing I want to do is to stand on a hard surface floor, as our cold stone tile does not offer any comfort for tired aching legs. I was uncomfortable with my other bathroom mat, there was no cushioning, and I felt the hard tile under my feet.
The microfiber top pile is very soft, similar to that of a very young fuzzy and furry kitten. It has the same soft and silky characteristics as a velour or velvet fabric, and when I kneel down or sit on it, it feels luxurious against my skin.
Aside from the silky softness, the memory foam provides a plush and cushioned comfort, and I cannot feel our hard tile while standing on this rug. In addition, this is easier on my knees when I need to kneel down to get something out of my lower vanity cabinets, or to sit while I take care what I need to do for my feet.
The backing underneath the mat has a No-slip PVC material that keeps the rug in place, but only if kept in a dry area and not on a slippery wet surface.
There is a heavy matting hem along the perimeter, which keeps this mat from fraying or separating along the ends.
This mat is easy to maintain with a light brushing or a vacuum, which is due to the short surface microfiber pile.
Regarding water absorbency, the bathroom mat is sufficient for my personal needs, but I always towel off in the shower before I step out of the tub. Therefore, this microfiber/memory foam bathmat does soak up the moisture from beneath my feet, and whenever I checked it at the end of the day, it was completely dry. However, I was not dripping an excess amount of water straight from my shower, so I never had a problem with a ‘water puddle’ on the mat.
At the end of the day, after dinner and cleaning the kitchen, I just want to get off my feet, and rest my legs. However, it is such a pleasure to kick off my slippers and stand on this soft mat for the last 10 – 20 minutes of my day, while I brush and floss my teeth, and complete my evening skin-care routine. It offers my weary legs and feet a cushy silky softness and some relief from standing on my feet all day. This microfiber with memory foam bath mat is exactly I wanted, and all that I needed. It offers me some much-needed comfort while standing on my hard bathroom tile.
Just wanted to give a thumbs up to the manufacturers of the Memory Foam Bath rug. I've used it for the past two months and it's done exactly what I needed. I wanted a soft rug for my foot to land when stepping out of the shower. I had purchased those thin rugs before and found that they provided a very poor, cheap experience. If you're looking for bathrug with more quality and value, then this is the one for you. It was great on the price side of the equation and even better on the value side. Definitely a great product for use outside the shower or tub. I purchased the brown bathrug to go with the vinyl flooring pattern.
I just bought two of these mats and tried for the first time this morning in my bathroom. I have to say that I'm very disappointed; this mat does not seem to absorb very much water at all. My old memory foam mats from Costco were not quite as plush as this mat, and the non-slip backing was not as nice as this one either. However, the Costco mats actually left your feet dry when you stepped off. This mat leaves the bottoms of your feet still wet, so when I stepped off the mat onto my tiled floor, I almost slipped. Not good. Does this mat have some type of coating that prevents it from absorbing water? If so, that would seem to me to be counter-intuitive. I have to give it one-star for that, even though the cushiness is nice and the backing is nice. I'm sending these back. Oh, and I paid full price for these and this is my honest opinion!
I wanted a quality product and was concerned that by buying a memory foam bathmat online. Nonetheless, after considerable research, I took the plunge and ordered this bath rug. I couldn't be happier with this product. It is a quality bathmat. It has a very nice and durable rubber grip on the bottom and the top is very plush. It's obvious this is a quality product that will last a long time. So, if your'e searching online for a quality bath mat, look no more and purchase this one. You'll be happy you did.
Very Soft, but water just remains on the surface and stepping on it repeatedly results in an unpleasant "squish" feeling underneath the feet. Have removed the mat from the bathroom and placed it next to the bed instead (feels great under the feet when it DRY, but is a bad idea to get it wet such as briefly stepping out of the shower onto the mat and then getting back into the shower and getting out again when shower is done).
The color of the mat is spot on. It matches perfectly. BUT the hem color or trim or whatever you want to call it, is not the same color brown as the mat I bought. It is noticeably different. I think the last picture the manufacture supplied shows the difference quite clearly. Where is says "Special Easy Care". I was put off my the color difference, especially on the brown rug. Also the rug doesn't "absorb" the water well. The drops of water roll right off the mat onto the floor, so I hope you aren't trying to protect your floor or anything like that because it will get wet.
I absolutely love this bathrug! It is so soft coming out of the tub or shower! Perfect for stepping out wet! The color matches my decor and it comes in two different sizes. I am definitely purchasing another one for my kitchen and for my bedroom! Trust me if you need a slip resistant rug anywhere in your house this is the one to buy! If this was a carpet size rug I would definitely purchase it for my living room! Nice plush rug to step on when coming back to reality after Calgon takes me away!!
I bought this rug from Comfort Zone because it came in the right size and in a color that I liked. I'm so glad that I did. The color is truly chocolate. The covering is soft, almost 'velvet-like'. The rug is extremely comfortable to step on from the shower. I've had gel mats fro B B & B and the thickness of this mat is far superior. This is a great mat. The service from Comfort Zone is outstanding.
