Nice Shirt but Sizing way off

This is a very nice shirt quality wise. I am always a size M but based on the reviews out here I ordered a L. It just barely fits and if I gain one pound it will be too small so I am returning.

I am 5' 4.5" and usually wear a large or extra large in tops. Because it was stated this ran small I ordered the extra large. It fits...no problem. It does not run several sizes small like some say. If in n between definitely order up like I did. The shirt itself is pretty long. It's not particularly feminine-looking either. Fit is a little boxy and straight.
