I not only purchased a Via Spiga Black Trench coat for myself in Large last year and fell in love, but also got a 1XL for my mother recently.

This trench is flattering, water resistant (but not really tested against hard rain and probably not water PROOF), doesn't pick up too much pet hair (I have a long haired, white dog and the hair is the bane of my existent), and it travels well. It is not especially warm (see: unlined), but you can layer accordingly and folds up nicely and does not wrinkle very badly.

I find the fit flattering for both our bodies (ie chunky but funky), and a great staple to add to our wardrobes without breaking the bank.
