How do you review a bath mat? That is a dilemma that I didn't think about when I got the DII Oceanique Machine Washable bath rug.
First off, it does not have a backing to it so it is very easy to slide while walking on it, and I did. My dogs also slid across the bathroom floor so to me, that is a large negative in my book -- especially since I have grandchildren and they are toddlers barely walking.
The color. The color is great. The grey is just a perfect blend and matches my bathroom to a tee.
I like that it is cotton and not another material. It is super absorbent and easy to dry -- just hang on the shower curtain rod.
Would I buy this product again? Probably not -- not because it doesn't do what it is meant to do but because there is not a backing to it and I need that in my household.
The mat is pleasing in appearance (appearance is true to the images), and appears to be of good quality. The weave is tight and I did not notice any loose threads.
It feels fine when you step upon it in bare feet. It is not particularly soft or thick, but is more substantial than a "towel" like bath mat.
One problem I noticed is it is not particularly absorbent. Water tends to at first pool on top of the mat. Then it disappears, but not absorbed... lift up the mat and now there is a puddle on the floor!
3.0 out of 5 starsReally just a decorated bath towel.

It's a nice size actually for a bath mat. It fits well in front of the commode or the sink. The downfall is there is no backing so basically all you're doing is throwing a decorated towel down on the floor. It doesn't lay flat it's still curled from shipping and it scrunches up easily. There's no backing so you will slip and fall if placed on a tile floor. It didn't dry all that well from wet shower feet. It can be laundered but not dried. Really expensive considering your bath towel will do the same thing.
This rug is alright if your expectations aren.t too high. The pattern reminds me of needlepoint and it isn’t much thicker. There is no backing but, because of the thick folded-over hems, it doesn’t look right to use reversible.
I wouldn’t say it is any more “soft & absorbent” than a bath towel.
The color is subtle and that’s good, I guess. It has to be dried flat which can take forever in our area.
Three stars for “OK” if you’re willing to pay the price.
I have the “Bordered” / “Gray” version of this rug. At 20 X 31”, it’s a nice size. It’s 100% cotton, which means that it absorbs water. . .so. . . . if you use it where it might get wet (bathroom) then you will want to make sure and hang it to dry, which can be a bit annoying. It’s also slick on the bottom, so you might want to put some non-skid material under it. At the current price of twenty-two bucks for Made in India, it’s also a bit expensive.
It's okay. The navy is a deep blue, very true to color, and I like the design embroidered on there, but I don't feel like the cotton holds up as well as a typical terry bathroom rug. It's also very small.
Was a bit thinner than originally anticipated and does not dry out as quickly as other bath mats I have had but it works. Very cute rug for my bathroom that looks just like the picture. Would highly recommend putting a rug gripper underneath if it will be put on a tile floor.
