It is nice to see a company that makes something well and to see them step to the front of the line when it comes to innovation. Great idea to make these compostable bags in all sizes. Nobody else seems to be doing it. Full credit to you guys. Awesome to find a company that puts some thought into their product. Have and definitely will buy again.
I was excited to find a compostable trash bag, but after buying the product I realized it didn't make sense. I used it as a trash can liner and everything that went in was going straight to landfill, so why pay extra for a bag that was going to disintegrate. I don't know if the bag composts or not, but boy does it disintegrate! Usually the bottom falls out just lifting it out of the trash can. If that doesn't break it, trying to tie a knot will certainly cause the trash to either fall out the bottom or push out the side. The only possible use I can see for a SMALLER version of the 8-gal bag is as a liner for a garbage bucket for material to be composted; however, the user would have to carry the bucket out to the compost pile and upend the whole thing because if the bag were lifted out of the garbage bucket everything in it would fall on the floor. Yuck.
Upon unboxing these compostable bags, I was optimistic that they would work. They seemed thick able to hold up. I was right about that part. They contain what you put in them,as far as solids are concerned, but if what you’re putting in them contains liquid at all, then look somewhere else for your needs. These bags “permeate” liquid like it’s not even there. They allowed the liquid to seep out into the container within a matter of hours. Not days or weeks. Unacceptable. I even tried double bagging...same results. I gave them one star for their durability, but that’s being generous. My money was wasted. Don’t waste yours.
I am trying to cut down as many wastes and try to live a "clean" life. I had the idea of transition to the compostable trash bag for the kitchen trash can especially the one with kitchen scraps. After using it for a couple of times, I have to transition to the regular trash bag. The trash bag leak fluid or moisture out into the trash can, which makes it a hassle to clean, especially it happened every single time when I have kitchen scraps inside the bag. I try to take it out as often as possible, but it is unlike that I need to replace the bag after only one day. I will use this bag, maybe to pick up my dog's poop so that it is compostable, but might not use it for kitchen trash bag again.
