Seattle color ones shrunk a LOT. Cool dryer, warm wash.
I compared them afterwards to a pair of Lee 14 long jeans I had previously, they were over an 1 inch smaller at waist.

Very short zipper and rise.

Disappointed and sending back for a refund.

One more thing, fabric is thin if that is a concern.😔

Ordered for my girlfriend, they say they are 98% cotton and 2% spandex however the tag in the jeans says 82% cotton / 17% polyester / 1% spandex. She wanted a traditional Jean not these light stretchy ones

EDIT: LOVE THE FIT, but....they FADE faster than my Gloria Vanderbilt straight leg did. I wash in COLD water, the same way I did the Gloria Vanderbilt jeans, yet they look lighter black after much fewer washes. In fact, Vanderbilt jeans I've had for YEARS are darker than Lee's I have washed maybe five times. I only changed from Vanderbilts because they discontinued the style I liked.
So knocking down to TWO STARS. I like BLACK jeans because they look dressier, but not when they look beat up and faded about a handful of washes (in COLD WATER).

I HAVE BEEN SEARCHING...for a replacement to the Amanda STRAIGHT LEG (they're TAPERED now) jeans by Gloria Vanderbilt. Finding a great-fitting, high-waisted pair of jeans seems like finding a pearl in an oyster...only harder.

I read the reviews and wasn't sure WHAT to expect. You don't know til you try them on. They just arrived, I quickly tried them and they are comparable in fit and style to the old straight leg Amanda's I bought for years.

I may even like them better! The legs fit just a tad tighter than the Amanda's but they are still straight leg (I like to wear with ankle boots with the boots in the INSIDE of the jeans). I wear with boots with a two inch heel and these seem perfect without hemming. (I am 5'4" and got the 8, I weigh about 153-155)..

I am in my sixties and like a high waist, a jean that pulls you in a bit (yay, spandex!) and the bit of stretch these have, I find flattering.

So if you're looking for something flattering and not interested in the skinny, low cut jeans, yet don't want jeans that look like baggy old lady jeans, these might work well :-).

Wrong Description and Inconsistent Fit: Two Reviews in One

What a disappointment! I bought a 10 Tall in Rinse and loved them. They fit perfectly, just as straight leg jeans should. I have trouble finding pants that fit because most of them are horribly baggy, especially through the thighs. The fabric is great: soft and stretchy. Beautiful jeans. Five Stars

So I ordered another pair of 10 Tall in Black...dummy here assumed they would fit like the Rinse (supposedly they have the same fabric content), so dummy removed the tags before trying them on. BIG MISTAKE. They were huge: baggy in the seat and thighs, waist too large. Awful. But now I'm stuck with them because I can't return pants with all the tags cut off (I won't do that again). The fabric is not soft and not very stretchy. I hate them. I washed them on medium and dried them on medium hoping they would shrink. They did a tiny bit but not enough. Next I'll try hot/hot and see if that helps. Otherwise, it's into the donation box. Very unhappy. I blame myself for removing the tags before trying them on, but the description at the site is wrong and I think people should reasonably expect two pairs of pants that are the same in everything but color should fit the same. I looked at the tags in both pants. The Rinse pants were made in Egypt, fabric content: 79% cotton, 19% polyester, 2% Spandex. The Black pants were made in Mexico, fabric content: 83% cotton, 16% polyester, 1% polyester spandex. The site claims these two colors have the same fabric content. They do not. Even the buttons are different. Go for the Rinse (they actually fit like the photo). The Black are fine if you want loose jeans, but they are NOT trim, straight leg pants.
UPDATE: the jeans I bought in mid-December 2105 (it's early February 2016) have a broken zipper. I wore these jeans an average of twice a week, so I think I should expect better life from them! Very disappointed.

I love Lee Jeans and have bought them for years but when you order these now they are never the same. Recently ordered the waist is really small but the rest of them fit and the pockets are very very shallow, can maybe get my fingers in just an inch or so. Sometimes they are really really long other time not, do you people use a pattern?? Sometimes the pockets are white on the inside sometimes they're black both though always have defects of some kind. Some things I have over looked but some are just ridiculous, you will never have 2 pair that fit the same.

Front pockets tear inside after only wearing them twice

I love these jeans, the fit, and the comfort. However, the 2nd time I wore them (and after only one wash), I put my hand into the right front pocket and my fingers went through the pocket and so now it’s ripped and I’m unable to use the front pocket of these jeans. It literally SHREDDED!!! I don’t know who to contact to see if I could get a replacement or not. Very heartbroken over this because most jeans don’t fit me right or are even comfortable and these were perfect for me until that happened!!!

I sized up thinking I wanted a pair of "comfy" jeans, unfortunately these fit tighter around the waist than I expected. The material isn't traditional jeans material. Very lightweight and thin so that was a bit disappointing. I ordered "tall" because I'm 5'8" and my jeans usually shrink up with washing and drying so they're long but that's what I wanted. So basically these aren't going to turn out to be my "comfy jeans" but sometimes you get what you pay for. Oh well!

Length is good for a long, that's about all the positive things I can say about the sizing of these jeans from a company that for many years has been my 'go-to' for a assured fit. #1 these are supposedly high-rise? I am beginning to think that the manufacturing companies have forgotten what high-rise actually is. These are below the waist. #2, worse, the sizing is completely off. I have several size 10L Lees from 4-5 years ago that are the same in the waist width. (I measured them next to each other). I bought the 14s after trying the 12 which honestly fit about the same as the 14. I could try a16 now, but frankly I don't think they're going to fit either. Very disappointing that Lee has so drastically changed over the last six years. And, #3, these had major moldy smell! Yuck.

I'm glad that I waited a week to submit my review. Lee's quality has degraded over the years. A seam is coming undone after a week of wearing. When they arrived, I noticed that the "straight" legs were actually tapered. I wasn't happy, but I could live with it. The material isn't as thick as I would have expected from a major brand either. The price was very good, but I can see why.

Women's jeans are hard enough to buy but it's ridiculous when you can't buy the same size from the same brand. I own several pairs of Lee jeans and these were the same size as the other ones but they fit completely different and with a short waist they are very uncomfortable. Plus, they have worthless front pockets.
